Was it Riot's intention to nerf Ekko with these mana changes?

TItle. Ekko already had very few favorable matchups in lane. As a result, he usually resorts to farming from range with his Q. These doran's ring changes have been god awful for him, I can feel it every time I'm laning. The +5 damage on AA does nothing for him as well because if he tries to get near the wave he loses like a third of his health from harass lol.

The only reason I ask if it was an intentional nerf is because I noticed Ekko's pick and ban rate were rising (at least I noticed it in my own games). Were these Riot's ways of putting him back in his place?

Personally I play Ekko and he has been VERY decent for a long time, he is definitely not weak and him getting a nerf isn't too crazy.

                               Thing is, Ekko doesn't have "very few favorable matchups in lane" because he is a melee character. Since our world isn't perfect, that doesn't really matter. He can still Q > E and get a 3 stack, then run straight back out to auto win a trade. I know I'm not tricking myself by saying that because that is exactly how you play him at early game. Sometimes Q return doesn't hit so you have to auto them again but that is about it. He's easy to play, he has almost Zed levels of wave clear (that doesn't mean he has great waveclear, just that he has waveclear almost on par with Zed. like, identical at level 3) and he removes a TON of kill pressure at level 6. Killing an Ekko is a nuisance and that is coming from BOTH perspectives.

The Dorans ring indirect nerf to Ekko was perfect tbh, he needed some sort of weakness other than not being level 3 yet. I'm not saying he ABSOLUTELY needed a nerf, but I'm also not saying he didn't warrant one either. He could've been fine with both.

PS Ekko isn't squishy enough to be losing 1/4 of his HP to any champion unless he literally eats abilities for no reason.

Not sure why this silver 4 yasuo main is tryna talk about ekko balance but ok.

The changes have been fine for ekko because some times u should go corrupt or seal in some matchups and that ends up being a buff in those matchups and his bad matchups are getting nerfed except kassadin buffed which you should probably perma banning or LB if you strugle on ur early game and can get snowballed on by Lbs

also ur PLAT 4 how are you any better than a silver IV that just started playing ranked, you are borderline Gold I while I'm still climbing and ur about to be hitting 50% winrate

i peeked D1 when i was climbing last season and preseason you can see this account has 0 games done for a while and on my smurf i easily saw how silver players are so bad they have no place in balancing what so ever.

if u hit D1 last season + preseason then maybe fix that winrate, and stop "rank shaming" because u think I'm hardstuck silver when i obviously just landed

I'm curious as to where exactly I said Ekko wasn't good. All I said was that the doran's ring changes made it tougher to lane as him. Thanks for the extremely condescending response, by the way,
