Confusing Chat Ban

So I'm seriously confused, I logged on today, and found that I have a chat ban for 17 games, I'm guessing that's the shortest ban cause I'm barely ever reported and have never received any sort of ban. However this season so far I've been reported almost every single game for some of the most benign reasons and I barely even talk in chat aside from the deserved "ty" and "gj" comments.

I didn't actually think I'd actually be punished cause it's a very, very rare occurrence for me to actually say ANYTHING report worthy and I typically just get reported cause I mute my teammates when they start crying and I say "muting you now, not worth my time to read." So most the reports against me have just been butthurt emotional nonesense. Sometimes when say a Fiora gets fed in top lane then just right clicks someone then hits R and kills everything in front of her I'll say in al chat "such a joke champion," not in any condescending way anything either, I mean it's simply a FACT that Fiora when ahead is a complete joke, so not sure why people get so upset. When I get ahead on Rengar and someone whines about me one shotting them I only agree, I got fed and now my champ is ridiculous, it's why I play him, and I get that's why people play the champs they do, but don't get upset when I point that out to you! But anyway yeah, that's about all I ever say in all chat, that one sentence and maybe a "you're joking...." if someone tries to defend their stupid champ lol

But now, for the next 16 games all I can do is post dragon timers.... I can't say good job, thank you, coming, ward this or that... nothing to help my team, can't even say when and where certain wards are, I just have to ping and pray my team understands and is actually paying attention for once.

So yeah I call utter bs on this chat ban, I have done NOTHING ban worthy and have been spam reported a couple times by those who did deserve a ban and I simply didn't put up with their childish behaviors. Riot, you seriously need to work or change something, overweighing with bans in normal games by people queued together is simply too easy and you guys need to take that into consideration.
