Still waiting on that new Innate for Koggy

Now would be the perfect time to give him one, since the remake completely wrecked him.

Nowhere to go but up, right?

His damage is really bad. He is supposed to be an on hit monster, but the ability that makes him so reduces his damage against enemy champs to 55%. Also his ult sucks now unless the enemy is low on health making his poke pretty much useless for sieging.

well, it can still hit up to 400 or so while they're above 50% and when they hit 50% that damage doubles to 800 a shot and at 25%, 1300

his ranged poke is no joke

No you need to be between 25% and 50% to get the first increase in damage. It won't be dealing 400 damage while they're above 50%. It'll be dealing more like 200, then 400, then 600.

Majority of the time only 200 though because his autos deal more damage than his "execute."

that's if you're playing AD kogmaw (on hits won't get even that high)

if you're playing AP kogmaw, the amounts are as I said, and I said that while they're above 50%, the damage is normal, while b below 50%, it doubles, then that amount multiplies by 1.Xxx when they are below 25%

As a past AP kog main and an AP kog enthusiast, I know how he works thank you very much.

When you are required to kill someone from your ult alone, old AP kog DID work. Relying solely on his base 420 (might have dropped to 360 tho) he was able to take out ADCs in 4shots because he STACKED PENETRATION.

Now with the same build it takes him 800 AP to reach similar damage values on normal ults. And he won't have the penetration he needs with this. So let's say he used his old build, which gets him 500 ap or so.

His ults will deal 300 damage and take 3 hits to double in damage to 600 assuming he's fighting an adc, so he would also be able to kill one in like 4 shots or so.

But AP kog's job ISN'T to just kill the adc, but to poke the whole team down. Mages build health, and tanks/juggernauts build LOTS of it. Against them it increases the amount of ults he needs to use by around 50%.

It's hilariously under-tuned, mostly. Riot was expecting Kog to be crazy strong and he hit Live as the worst champion in the game by no small margin. He's been improved a bit, but he's still inferior to every other ADC you could pick.

I don't think the rework is bad. If the Ult had smooth bonus scaling and he got some kind of neat OnHit Innate instead of his suicide bomber, I suspect Riot could probably balance him with number tweaks.

try playing him as a mage instead of an ADC

you're just seeing bad kog'maws or are just bad with him. None of my friends have any problems with him.

I'm not having problems with him either, but then again I mostly play Dominion. And he's doing great over there. But that isn't saying much, since Yorick and Urgot both do well on Dominion, too.

Not doing so great on Rift, hence my constant pestering of Riot regarding what they're going to do about it.

kogmaw wasn't remade at all...his W's damage conditions (now attack speed and still %health damage and range) and his ultimate was changed to deal increasingly high damage based upon the opponent's missing hp

his kit functions exactly the same except the potential engage poke damage of his ult was nerfed

this was a champion gameplay update, not a remake or rework

also, his ability to siege towers with his W now is absolutely broken...you can play ap koggle with Nashor's tooth and i'll have to check my match history for the second item within the AP build and you can take a tower in about 5 seconds or less...as an AP build

It certainly wasn't a Fiora level remake, but it still changed Koggy's gameplay pattern pretty solidly. Previously Kog's thing was using his W in tandem with Trinity and his Ult to chunk targets from long range. AP Koggy was basically 'spam R until all the things are dead'.

How he functions now consists of 'go ham with W and hope it gets them low enough to polish off with R'.

In terms of raw damage, though, AP Marksmen Kog is without question the highest DPS build. Popping a Blue Elixir when you need a tower to vanish is pretty hilarious.

"Kog'maw dissolves and consumes the target passively, gaining 2% EFFECTIVE health physical/magic mixed damage and healing for half that."

Effective health would be dealing a percentage of the enemy's total health AFTER it is multiplied by resists. So it would be effectively true damage that gets amplified by having penetration, i.e. landing his q.

And it would fit his thematic too because he would be consuming the player's digested bits and healing off of it.
