Why is Aatrox Attack Speed Scaling so bad?

Anyone else with 2 high AS items would have decent AS, but aatrox needs his passive up to have even remotely decent AS

As a champion built around needing AS and life on hit / life steal to survive anything ( that is his concept ) its rather sad that champions even like Fiora can EASILY outheal and out lifesteal tank aatrox.

Its stupid to see how this kit revolves so heavily around his passive but 3/5 times it doesnt even proc, its so hard to maintain his passive... the fact that it can FALL OFF DURING COMBAT IS FUCKING RETARDED

literally... falls off during combat? like... yall continue to fuck up this champion

Weve been hearing about an aatrox rework for far too long, your little mini rework is a joke.

Keep buffing high played LCS champs though because no one gives a shit about your 99% of players WHO ARENT IN LCS

Aatrox is a clusterfuck of bad design that shows how at riot's are clueless about their own game.

-Attack speed falls off while in fight -Give him a gimmicky passive to "promote trades in lane" that is basically useless and non existent -His stats are garbage, especially the defensive ones with the excuse of "he's got a free GA in his kit and we don't make him too similar to zac because you know, diversity and stuff" -Those stats were thought for when you could ACTUALLY activate his passive and revive, now just pop his cooldowns and he's dead, get c0Un73RplAyEd kiddo -HIS DAMAGE PATTERN IS THE SAME OF A FUCKING AD CARRY, WITH THE EXCEPTION THAT HE'S MELEE AND NOT RANGED -He suffers the same Diana's problem: most of his core items are underpowered and don't synrgize with his kit and he should need extra item slots in order to be effective, since he doesn't scale late game without them -For a champ that's supposed to scale towards mid-late game but fails to do so his early game is pretty underwhelming -Bronzetards were tired about getting towerdived pre-6 so we gave Zac awful farming capabilities early game and we removed the passive from Aatrox -He was meant to be viable top/jungle, he's kinda fine top but absolutely trash in jungle, further proof of it is that after his mini rework the passive literally didn't activated on jungle monsters

If i didn't knew better i would love to know with which criteria they hire people at riot, because a dumb, fat neckbeard that plays magic and dnd all day long could come up with better kit understanding and create a better game, but it looks like the game isn't the focus here.

Worst part is that lore-wise Aatrox should be one of the strongest champions in the game.

But just be patient for the rework. It is well known Aatrox is not living up to his epicness.

I hate to say it but Aatrox is not the dpser he once was, his build now has much different avenues to optimise his strengths and weaknesses. I recommend focusing on a tankier more burstier aatrox with cdr to boot so you can keep your passive up and hence keep your dps and ga passive value high. I've tried doing crit/as and as/onhit and while they are definitely fun and scale stronger in the late game, they present too many moments of squishiness that I now shy away from playing full glass. You can still pull it off like many other avid Aatrox players do but it's much harder to play without the safety net of having tankiness through hp or resistances.

If you still want to play Aatrox in his current state, you need to adapt. If you still want to do heavy damage then build pseudo tank/damage items like black cleaver, titanic, frozen mallet, maw, trinity (to a lesser extent), ga, etc. If you're still feeling you're lacking attack speed, try adding a berserker greaves instead of your standard tabi/merc.
