Can't we get an option to buy the icon that would've been released for Garen? I love Darius and all, and I love these VS events, but honestly it feels really shitty to wind up missing out on my icon because of Mob Mentality ("DARIUS IS WINNING?! I'LL PICK HIS SIDE, THEN, SO I CAN GET THE IP REWARD!" - Everybody that didn't pick their side on day 1)

Like, I was thinking they'd give you the icon of whomever you voted for and the winners got 1000 LP. But this is extremely disappointing. We already knew Darius would win from the start, so I can't help but feel gipped.

Vs Events are essentially pointless. Whats the point of even voting for Garen when you know you're gonna get the Darius icon shoved in your face at the end anyways... May as well vote darius and get that 1k LP. Like, I already knew he was gonna lose. Darius had 10k likes on his theme while Garen had barely 8k. The whole point was to get his icon. Wtf. Riot.

In fact, Garen was winning for the first few days, so your theory of mob mentality picking Darius for the IP reward just doesn't hold up when he didn't start winning until halfway through the event.

He started winning about 6 hours in and never switched.
It was a foregone conclusion, because edgelords.

People prefer Darius because he's regarded as a "better champion". That you're automatically more "skilled" for playing him. It's a prejudice that's existed everywhere, pretty much every new player will see Darius and think "Oh, they're the GOOD top laners".

only if that mob bothered to ask other people who was in the lead before they voted.
they didnt. infact most people seemed to have difficulties to find the indicator who was in the lead and didnt know even after they voted.
if a ton of people are writing on the boards, youtube and other social media that they voted darius because they expect him to win, and they want the essence, you can bet that the deciding factor this time around was mob mentality. this also includes a bunch of people on my friend list who ive talked to. a couple of them just voted darius because they expected him to win and wanted the essence.
it was at least overall enough people that the event was skewed by the reward itself.
i critisized this from the start, and riot could have fixed it by giving everyone 1k blue essence for the final mission and just have the icon be the reward for the winner. they didnt and now the outcome is pretty hollow.
