Idea to band-aid the damage the ranked resets do to matchmaking.

What if there was an introduction bracket, that players only have to make it out of one time? Basically, people who are either entering ranked the first time, or who have never made it out of that ranking would be there, and once they get promoted out, they go to bronze(or higher) every other season. I know this wouldn't fix everything, there would still be mismatches left and right with so many people jammed into bronze. The thing is, it'd at least cut out a huge part of the frustration by putting people who are actually new in a place with other players around their skill/knowledge levels, and it'd start proving by example that the only reliable way to climb is to work as a team. Hell, maybe even get another bracket for those who refuse to communicate properly since that seems to be the next biggest culprit in bronze after the matchmaking.

Ranked at the beginning of the season is probably the most lopsided and frustrating things to deal with in League of Legends. Since bronze is as low as it goes, and bronze is also likely where more players than not get thrown, games are a complete mess of people randomly grabbed from a huge range of skill and knowledge levels. This is not fun, it's a huge chore that everyone has to go through every season to finally make it to the point where people are placed properly and actually communicate and work together. I was lucky enough last season that the gods of matchmaking allowed me to get out of the worst of it, but this year is a solid reminder of how early season ranked is barely even playing the game.

With this sort of pool of players, i doubt there is any other situation which creates nearly as many games where a player's individual efforts simply do not matter, and it's very demoralizing. You can only play so many games in a row where your team decides that yelling at each other is more important than playing the game before you start questioning the purpose of trying to climb. It's just constantly rolling the dice and praying the enemy team implodes on itself instead of yours, or at least that they do it worse. That's basically just watching a 20-40 minute long slot machine and praying you win enough times in a row to get to the point where you can actually start playing the game again. I don't think anyone wants this, so even if making a new bracket or two isn't the solution, I think most would agree that something has to be done.
