Nearly Season 5 and Nasus is still a farm bot?

Just finished a game against a Nasus. I won of course because I was with my team taking objectives while Nasus farmed minions in top lane.

As usual Nasus built nothing but MR (I was Azir in this case), and did his best to ignore me while only trying to last hit minions. I Killed him early but he started spending all his money on defense, so eventually he could 1v1 me just with his ult and debuffs. So I left him to farm and rotated mid, then bot, and took towers, and dragons and the advantages stacked up. When he finally tried to fight ( at the point when we were pushing down nexus turrets) he died pretty much instantly despite having nearly 800 stacks and lots of defense. I apologized to the enemy team for the 4v5...

So, my question is: Why is this champion even a thing? Nasus runs counter to every goal that Riot has stated for gameplay in LoL. His gameplay rewards passive, low risk play that involves as little interaction with his team or the enemy team as possible for 20 or so minutes. Basically he is cancer for the team he is on, and the team he is against.

So you may say that a smart player will know when to join their team, but that isnt the point. Nasus mechanics reward farming, not fighting, so your average solo Q player is going to try to get those stacks thinking he's becoming more invincible with every Q.

Season 5 is coming, and we shouldnt still have this cheesy archaic champion that is all about stats and requires no mechanics at all. Give us a rework and make him a champion that has to fight for his stats.

"Champion that has to fight for his stats".

Wow, I didn't know Nasus started the game with 800 stacks and didn't have to risk getting poked out of lane or murdered everytime he tried to kill a single minion.

You apologized to the enemy team or the 4v5? What a douchebag. Lol you actually think you're good because PRE LEVEL 30, you beat a nasus who farmed all game and didnt help his team like a good player would. This unranked game makes you feel like you have the insight to deem a champion unfit to be in the game? Three words. Different playing styles. The game as a whole rewards farming, although i'm sure you wouldn't know anything about that yet. Your team won because of teamwork but let me assure you, nasus has his place. If you left lane vs me with 800 stacks I would have taken your inhib immediately and then rotated that pressure to another lane or joined a teamfight as top got consistent pressure. Just because you beat a noob nasus player doesn't mean the champion is useless. Give it time, you'll run into different players who will do you completely differently. It may be a favorable matchup but ganks and roams could change all that with experienced players. Get a good 300+ wins after level 30 and then formulate opinions, that is, when you've got a decent grasp of the game, different playstyles, champion utility, and compositions. Nasus is great. Cs is great. Farm wins games. You got carried, it happens. 1k stacks doesnt make nasus a 1v5 GOD, it just makes towers dissapear reaaaaaaal quick. That's where his utility lies to me. Pushing objectives and good teamfighting to boot. Pressure.

If you punish Nasus hard early game, and understand how to close games he should be no issue. Just understand that if Nasus can communicate with his team how to properly split, and they can survive, he will straight up win the game.

His mechanics do reward farming, but league is headed in a direction where early skirmish victory is key. I don't see an issue.

Riot does not like passive champions.
