Theres some problems with kalista.

So there comes a time in your league-of-legends-career when the champion youve been playing all along is actually beeing played against you - and you just realise, deep down in yourself, that the champ is broken.

I like it if different champions have different unique mechanics, that are somewhat hard to master (For example Azir, or Zed shadow). Kalistas passive, for me, tries to be one such thing. It makes her hard to hit and is overall very cool and unique. And you can deal with it with predicting her moves.

However theres some things that are just straight out unfair, have zero counterplay and give Kalista way too much off a pick priority at her current state:

  • Objective securing. Beeing able to just get objective without any chance for steals is a problem. If i see a kalista attacking a dragon for 3 seconds i already know the dragon is gone and contesting it will be a void effort.

  • One of the biggest problems i have with Kalista is her ultimate. Sure its a knockup, which is already very powerful (uncleanseable) in itself, but in my games its used to save the support from deadly situations. That in itself wouldnt be too bad, for example thresh does the same - however thresh has to place a lantern and the ally must click on it and hope he wont get CC'd. With Kalista theres no placement, you dont even need to click on your ally. You can just press R, which just takes a lot less effort than what thresh has to do. But the biggest problem here is actually that it pulls the support out of CC. Thats just stupid. If i use a stun and a supression on the support and he instantly gets pulled away, while i can just sit there and watch, unable to even scatch kalista because of its range then thats just very bad design. It just removes the chances to ever kill the support and makes CC a non factor.

So do i think kalista is too strong? Yeah, no question about it.

But instead of what nerfing what is making her unique (her passive) id slowly nerf the Objective controll potential (try a max dmg cap of.. 1000? 800? thats up to debate) and for the love of god.. give some counterplay to her ultimate - or change how it works.. because at this point its a unparalleled defensive tool that is in 80 % of the cases not used offensively.

Thanks for letting me share my thoughts and good luck in your games!

"Some" is an understatement. Her passive is a problem, you don't need to act like it's a healthy part of Kalista's design.

The problem with Kalista is that she exists.

Everything about Kalista is just so wrong on so many levels that it would be easier to just delete her from the game.
