@Riot: QoL bump on Syndra's E+Q+R Interaction for 5.18?

Hello,

So, essentially, there is a window in which a Q launched by E can be 'picked up' by R. What this means is that Syndra's ultimate can fetch spheres from being in flight. This typically happens in the last 40-50% of E's flight time, so for the first 50%, the 'pick up' command doesn't register.

This leads to a problem in that activating Syndra's ult too early can cause her to completely miss one or more Dark Spheres. Thus, there's a sort of enforced 'you must wait or you lose Dark Spheres' period, that can be around 0.25-0.5 seconds, depending. You get no brownie points, and in fact lose power, for being too fast in someone who is very timing sensitive.

It'd help if this window was looked at, in either being lessened or removed (so spheres can be picked up at any point in flight). In that way, the onus is more on the Syndra player in choosing to wait when to activate ultimate, rather than being forced to wait to activate. I mean, guess the timing even slightly off and you'll lose Dark Spheres on her ultimate ... it's a pretty steep price to pay for a mechanic that isn't very intuitive to work with.

Thank you~

Amusingly, E is still bugged, it just occurs much more rarely and under different conditions. I've a few recordings of people going straight through it still post-fix. I've no idea what could be causing that, though.

By far and large it's a consistency improvement that means Syndra won't accidentally be robbed of ultimate damage. It also technically means she will have full utilization of her 1.5s stun when it is done at 'close range'. If you snipe someone with a stun and flash, you can utilize the full timer without an issue (due to the Q being in the last 50% of E's flight time). If you do so at close range, you actually have 1.25s~ practical stun window, less if the enemy has mercury's threads. Given how difficult Syndra's stun and knockback function at close range, it really just helps let her properly utilize abilities without being punished for reactionary play.

Fiora is designed to beat anyone 1-to-1 and going against her as Syndra will be an extreme exercise in skill. You can usually bait out the riposte with W and kiting, but really clever ones will almost always wait for E. Your best bets are to hammer her in the prelude that when she engages, you can sacrifice E to her Riposte, then ult and kill her. Unless she is really tanky for some reason, that can be enough to handle her. Flashing to dodge or force the fight can also be useful, situationally.

Thank you for watching me~ I'm trying ; _ ;

There was what the balance team called right where I want you, meaning stunned enemies were not supposed to be pushed further back when stunned with Q+E. I suppose if the stun doesn't connect due to latency miss matches or whatever this other mechanic may be taking place. At any rate I have a higher success at peeling multiple enemies as Support Syndra with a single E knockback, because otherwise stunning may not push them back and may give them the window they need to catch up to me and the ADC during an all in chase.

It's possible that additional mechanic is the culprit, I'm not sure. It's worth testing without it to see if a problem like the above is replicated or not. There are also issues where enemies knocked alongside moving Dark Spheres are just outright not stunned, even though the sphere and enemy occupy the same space. Hit checks are overriding or ignoring each other, it seems.

My main issue with Fiora is that she almost always gets fed at her top island until she inevitably descends to wreak havoc upon me no matter how well I may be doing. Because of the nature of her new kit and the Juggernauts™ I've taken a liking to Liandry's in combination with Luden's as tertiary DPS because of how hard it is to deal burst damage to them.

On that note I've noticed your favorite niche item is , you tend to build it every game. My own niche is 9 seals of scaling HP regen along with Seraph and Strength of Spirit Mastery along with mobility quints and other AP % movement items. I really do not like Athene's Unholy Grail at all and take scaling CDR runes in it's place.

I also see you taking Void Staff consistently which is still very good but doesn't give any defensive stats. As I see Juggernauts stacking that health I just feel like Liandry's seems to do more against them but that may just be my own bias. Overall my play style revolves more around utility than glass cannon as often I find myself playing APC, ADC, and Support simultaneously. Now if only Syndra could tank...

Is my favorite item when enemies are camping and my team isn't warding anything.

Do you have any other niche item picks besides WoTa?

Liandry's is an interesting power spike versus squishy targets and a DPS option against tanks. Strictly speaking, in windows of 9 seconds or less, Void Staff is better damage in all respects. After that period, Liandry's burn DOT adds up enough it out damages Void Staff more and more. The problem comes in just that - applying 9 seconds or more of continuous burn. That's a long time in a team fight and Syndra can't safely apply damage from range that won't expose her to being picked off. Combined with Luden's and Alacrity, however, you're looking at a more DPS-kite oriented build than a Burst one. Doable, just very dangerous, and perhaps a slight problem in a damage race against other glass cannons.

WOTA is perhaps the only 'niche' item I really use. My Anti-AD Lane build utilizes Tear/Seraph's and CDR/level + Armor/level, dropping Athene's completely from the build. With an early tear+seekers, it tends to handle AD lanes pretty well, though I'm considering HP/level instead of Armor for that setup.

You can honestly forgo Twin Shadows for either Yellow ward Trinket (2+regenerating wards) or even a Scrying Orb. It's good utility, you're just giving up a lot of potential damage using it.
