When to invest IRL $$ into League?

When do most people first start to buy RP for their 1 tricks? When do people start upgrading parts of their PC setup just for playing LoL? Like around what rank?

I first bought RP around 3-4 months after starting to play League of Legends I never ended up buying any PC parts for League, as my graphics card is decent If you are getting bad framerate, you could prob buy a decent $100 graphics card and get 60+ fps

There really shouldnt be a situation where you have to upgrade your pc to play league only, as being unable to play league probably means that the rest of your functions are running almost unusuably slow

This game isn't worth spending real money on. Save it and use it to help pay for college.

I didn't know spending money on lol is rank dependent, like seriously, do you like a skin and have money you don't need for anything else? Buy it.

Upgrading parts of the PC setup for LoL? Is this a serious question? League of Legends is freaking 8 years old, you can play it on a modern toaster with 60+ fps.

If your PC isn't capable of running an 8 year old game at max settings you clearly need to get your priorities in check. Instead of thinking about one-tricking and related skins - buy a new PC from the garbage collectors they might still have a Q6600 setup from 2006 lying around.

How does one even work with a PC that isn't capable of running LoL? I don't know what you do besides LoL but I can't see how that is even acceptable. I don't have a top PC either, my PC is over 3 years old - but it can still run several games at the same time, watch streams, run algorithms in the background and still laugh at LoL. And the only thing that's still worth something is my CPU (i7 4770k), the rest is garbage that's not even worth looking at.

I'm baffled.

My recommendation:

  • upgrade your PC first, this should be your number one priority if it can't handle LoL at any meaningful FPS (anything below 60 is not acceptable for a game that old)
  • if you're short on money, don't just buy skins, if you want to buy some, buy when you're sure that you'll use them

I didn't mean that my pc was bad, I was just asking for a friend. Also, my main question was that I have friends that are plat and diamond (good considering the nerds at my high school) and the plats and even a few golds already invested in a good pc and even had enough extra money to buy flashy keyboards and such. The strange thing is, the diamond doesn't have anything special, he just plays on a normal pc.
