Aurelion Snore
As someone who was looking forward to Ao-Shin for the longest time, and has wanted to see a "real" dragon champion in this game since season 2. I'm gonna be totally frank,
is a pure dissapointment of a champion.
He has awesome voicework, awesome visuals, he's supposedly one of the single most powerful entities in the game lore, and yet he's utterly unengaging, unsatisfying, and unoriginal in terms of actual gameplay.
There's really zero reason to pick him over the likes of
or
or
or... well most other mages really.
His claims to fame are supposedly his Q mechanic, and his passive.
In practical terms, his Q is a weaker version of Anivia's. In trade for a potentially larger stun radius, he is forced to charge directly at a grouped enemy team... which is exactly what a squishy mage wants to be doing...
His passive is probably his most "unique" mechanic, and while it can be strong in certain situations, it's his primary source of damage, and it's BORING awkward and unsatisfying to use. It is also a liability, as it prevents him from using bushes for cover(This choice seems more like a contrivance to accomodate his awkward passive than a legitimate balance decision) , and will constantly aggro jungle camps(It only took Riot 6 seasons to fix Blitzcrank's R passive, so I guess we can look forward to them fixing this in season 12)
I appreciate that Riot is trying to create unique mechanics for every new champ, but Sol's kit was DOA, he needs a rework to add some actual fun to his gameplay, let alone to make him a viable pick.
