How to carry yourself out of Bronze?

Griefer··3 votes·4,490 views

I've been playing League since S4. I was too much of a n00b in S4 so I didn't bother to touch ranked until this season. I played my promos with a duo friend around the same level due to the notorious "brain dead" teammates in bronze I've been hearing about. At the end of my promos, I actually ended up getting Bronze 2 and my friend got Bronze 1. He managed to carry himself out of bronze into silvers, but I can't seem to grasp the concept of how he did it.

Now don't flame on me, but I feel like when I am playing with a reliable duo partner, I have the potential to play to my fullest. We usually set up a Skype and communicate through there instead of chat so everything is a lot smoother. League is a team game but imo it's hard to try to communicate to your team when all they're focused on is something that they shouldn't be.

I'm in need of some general tips to help me become better player and have the ability of carrying myself out of Bronze. I feel like I shouldn't have to rely on a friend to carry me out of Bronze, but me actually working for it.

I turn off pings. They put me on tilt and people are generally using them wrong at that elo. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're not very good and shouldn't ping your team often either. Unless you know they're getting ganked.

Play Kayle and scale into the late game since no one knows how to close games out. Even if you lose early you scale so well into the late you auto win.

This sounds stupid, but don't feed. Even if you lose lane by a few cs, it's better than feeding and your team will be in a better place for it.

Good luck!

I'd suggest the opposite, actually. Early-Mid game champions make them lose hope, and if they don't ff it's easy to close by 35. Leona Jinx Kayle Pantheon JarvanIV.

But I'm stuck in Bronze anyway. Because coming back from teams like that is hard.

Ward a lot and focus on not dying. If you play smart and only farm (this is laning so not in the jung) then you should be able to capatilize on the enemy mistakes. Watch the whole map and take objectives over chasing kills. In the jungle you need to gank a lot. People dont ward a whole ton in bronze so gank every lane. Focus on getting winning lanes even more ahead. Bot lane is priority then mid then top (exceptions include nasus and fiora gank them first thing especially if they push they can scale a hard mid game) anyway think ahead and play smart watch twitch too see what "smart" plays look like. Don't be afraid to make plays and don't be afraid to make calls. If you know you can get a baron ping it and call it out.

I honestly don't know dude. lol i did it last year but this year...I can't believe how many 0/8/1 olaf top laners... then when you get mad at them their like " League nerds brah so salty." Every fricken match has a 0-8 guy or 2 devestating any chance of victory. These people are a friggin stone dragging everyone around them down.

if you're an ADC you need your team to peel for you, if you're a tank you need someone to be the damage dealer, if you're mainly there to provide utility(support) you need someone else to carry you. "carrying" all by yourself can be hard and in some games just impossible because it's designed to be a "team game".

If you wanna be a One-man-army and "carry" a team all by yourself you need to play champs that are hard to kill but at the same time deal LOTS of damage. Some examples are...

Swain Swain

Nasus Nasus

Poppy Poppy

Tryndamere Tryndamere

maybe even garen, shyvana or Vi

it's hard to carry with actual carry champs in lower elo because they tend to rely on gimmicy shit (like how ahri rely's on her dashes) to stay alive, or how the adc relys on her support and/or the rest of their team to protect her. that stuff isn't always reliable, often times it's better to just be straight up hard to kill.

generally speaking AD champs are better than AP champs for carrying because they're better at taking towers and other objectives. If you play someone like swain your tower damage sucks so you'd be better off just teamfighting, getting an ace and pushing with your team, if you're nasus or tryndamere you might be better off just split pushing and doing things yourself.

but yeah, in lower elo, Hard to kill with lots of damage is the way to go. work on you mechanics and ward shit, and remember league is more of a mind game then anything else, if you can read your opponent you can usually beat them.

Ps. it also helps to know who counters who, and who's currently strong and who's not.

Some general tips to become better at the game

-Watch replays & watch streamers who are higher ELO-

-Do not be toxic in games, and instead be nice to your teammates, this will encourage them to do better-

-Don't play a hyper carry just cus ur gold V mateirul, play what you KNOW how to play the best, and help your team win-

-Learn ONE role and excel at it, make it so you win lane 80% of the time, and then learn ONE champion and everything about him/her-

-Wards-

Step 1) Remember that you are placed in the elo that you belong and the learning takes time. Your goal is to learn how to play at a silver level. Once you learn how to play at that level, you will get there. If you focus on learning, and not climbing, then games will become less frustrating, and you'll be able to improve faster.

Step 2) Focus on yourself and only yourself. Flaming your teammates doesn't win you games. Blaming your losses on teammates doesn't win you games. Saying "I played well but all my teammates suck, gg" doesn't win you games. There is always something you could do to win. Look at how you can better influence a victory and focus soley on that. Obviously you can carry yourself out. How do you think Piglet got to Challenger in ~70 games or so? Winning 60+ of them? It wasn't because he said "GG Can't win this game, Lux fed Zed. Elo Hell holds me back."

Step 3) Play one role, one champ as often as possible. The more you play that role and champion, the better you become at it. The better you become, the better you'll do, the more you'll win. Simple. Be able to play other roles decently, but a lot of people (even in Diamond) can only play one role really well. They play the rest at a mediocre level at best.

Step 4) Emulate success. If you see somebody doing really well with a certain strategy, try it out for yourself. If you do well with it, keep on using it! Obviously your playstyle will be different from others, so you may not mix well with everyone successful strategy.

Step 5) Have fun! Even losses (or 4v5s, or games where your team feeds, or games where you feed, etc) can be great learning experiences. Remember that every game is winnable if you just play well enough (Okay, maybe only in Bronze). Learn what you can from bad situations so that you can play more optimally in them in the future. Just go with it and have fun and learn as much as possible, its a game after all.

If you follow these 5 simple steps, then I can guarantee you'll get to silver! Just learn as much as you can each game and go from there! With enough dedication you'll achieve your goals!

Pay attention to the minimap! Buy vision wards early on, and place them in the river bushes since they last indefinitely until someone notices them and destroys them.

Nobody is going to call their lane mia, and if they do, certainly aren't going to inform you which direction they are heading. If they do call mia without direction, automatically assume they are ganking your lane.

i play jungle in ranked so usually if a lane is mia or there is going to be a gank on one of my teammates i ping for them. most people usually just go why is he pinging warnings at me and get frustrated when theyre dead from a gank.

most of you have probably climbed out of the bronze ladder already, but I seem to struggle with my teammates. Most of the time theyre always focusing on laning and not taking objects like dragon, and communicating is very difficult. usually you just have to be a lone wolf. i mosty play jungle in ranked and try my best to help out pushed lanes so they can get the lead but its hard when your team cant learn to work with the jungler.

bronze is pretty easy to get out of, just focus on csing, keep vision, pay attention to the map and you'll be fine. the biggest problem with most bronze players is they constantly engage fights and harass/dive missing CS left and right during laning, then after laning they just don't farm. Remember 15 cs is roughly the gold for one normal kill, so when you dive someone or chase someone from lane/etc and you miss 15 cs if you had just stayed you'd be up in both exp and gold the equiv if you had killed them. dont rush expensive items unless you have a huge gold lead either, for instance as an ad if you dont quite have the gold for a bfs consider grabbing a pickaxe instead, and take a few more red pots. make every back count.

If you have a duo that plays with you consistently get good at bot lane, crush that and have him peel for you in team fights. You could almost literally guarantee in bronze the adc's are clueless, because even in higher elo's its still not a role people often play proficiently. Bot lane should be easy to stomp if you and your duo are in sync and you guarantee yourself mid / late game presence. So just clump as 5 for everything and you should win.

For solo, I'd recommend a top or mid that can split really well. Smash your lane and split all day, chances are in bronze they will send their whole team or at least most of it after you cus f**k that guy (also happens in elos higher than bronze) and in that time the rest of your team can take other objectives around the map.
