There will always be issues with a game this big and I understand that. I feel like a lot of people continuously bash riot (me included) and don't realize the improvements that have actually been made to the game.

One of those huge improvements this preseason is Champion Diversity. It wasn't long ago when every game looked like this

Top - Kennen/Jayce Jungle - Lee Sin/ Rek'Sai Mid - Syndra/Viktor ADC - Jhin/Caitlyn Support - Janna/Bard/Thresh

Since the Preseason hit i honestly fee like you can play 90 percent of Champions legitimately and competitively in your ranked games. There is a very small amount of unplayable champions such as Nunu/Lucian and it honestly feels great to have different matchups every single game instead of having to go top as Darius and play vs Jayce 8/10 games.

So if anything positive is looked upon in this preseason it should be this. Riot did an awesome job at making most champions Viable and creating a diversified Champ Pool for every single role

It used to look like that, now it looks like this:

Top - Camille/Ornn Jungle - Xin/Warwick/Evelynn/Kayn Mid - Malzahar/Xerath ADC - Vayne/Ezreal/Kalista Support - Leona/Janna/Alistar

Just because we are seeing new faces it doesn't change the fact that 100 champions out of 139 are not able to compete with the others that are dominating or at least slightly viable. If you really want to climb the ladder you can't do it with 75% of the current champions. If you pick one of the 100 off-meta or out of meta champions you put yourself already behind.
