Tahm Kench gets full stacks way too easily

And stays stacked too long after you do stack it.

I'm convinced this is one of the things that makes him overbearing. He can get 3 stacks with a rapid auto-Q-atuo, then do 30% of your hp with one ability. Then after he spits you out, you _still_have full stacks on you, and you will until his Q is back up at which point he can stun you.

Keep in mind the stacks stay on you for seven seconds. This isnt like a Velkoz passive that gives you a bit of extra damage, when TK gets three stacks, he can cc you for 6 seconds, and deal about a third to half of your hp bar, all with zero offensive items.

Given how much power TK has when he does get stacks on you, he really should have to actually work harder to get them.

I'd say halve the stack decay rate, and have his abilities actually consume stacks when he procs them, so when he eats you and spits you out, you dont already have 3 stacks on you again. That way he cant perma cc you, and chunk your health bar all while being litterally impossible to kill.

That is not true. All your stacks are consumed with the W, you have to reapply 3 to get the stun after the devour.

He needs lower attack speed and a 5 second instead of 7 second window until his stacks start to expire.

I don't know about that, the three stacks still show on the person when I've played tahm.

You're miss remembering. It has consumed all the stacks since his release.

I haven't played Tahm since before the last patch, so it is either a bug recently introduced or you are not paying close enough attention. He can (or should) only Q stun->W a fully stacked enemy. He can't W->Q stun.

I've played about 60 or so Tahm games, and not once has his Acquired taste stayed on after using W on an enemy

I feel like both his stun and devour needs to consume all the stacks. Also his base attack speed should be lowered a little bit.

They're already making it harder for him to stay on people by lowering his Attack range

Oh yes this will definitely fix all of his problems.

you people keep acting like his problem is his damage. First of all, he can only use that W on one person, SECOND of all, I've already done the math on this in another thread. Tahm's damage is not above and beyond other tank's damage, it's actually pretty damn average. The only difference is that he doesn't have nearly as much AOE with it, he has no mobility, he basically has no ultimate. People keep whining about Tahm "being broken" because of his damage, but they keep forgetting that the main complaint about Tahm right now is being able to save ADCs from their own bad positioning, which is beyond unfair in alot of cases

at 40% CDR tahm his Q has a 3.6 sec cooldown and his W(devour) a 6 second cooldown, that is way to low, this means he can Q for the stun, devour you, and then you get released from the devour, he can instantly already apply 2 stacks with AA + Q.

Other issue is he can apply a stack through morg's black shield with his Q

Betoldia Prime1 votes

Stacks get applied on getting hit, not on damage, so there is nothing wrong with stacking on her shield, shes STILL getting HIT

Beldori1 votes

If i'm not mistaken though it blocks other on hit effects like Braums passive not counting the stun( atleast i can't recall in all my times of playing Braum that he could apply the passive with his Q like Tahm can)

1374341 votes

I believe Braum's passive stacks still apply, but they will not stun if you got to 4 with the shield still up. Same with Tahm. Still stacks, but Q on a fully stacked target won't stun (assuming, of course, shield is still up). Might not even be able to W? I'm not sure I don't think I have encountered or seen that situation.

i have tried it, he wont eat her, not until the shield wears off

From LoL Wiki:

Swallowing enemy champions slows Tahm Kench by 95% and removes all An Acquired Taste stacks from them.

I play him Jungle a lot and I can confirm you have to re-apply the stacks after spitting out an enemy.

I played Tahm for a few games in a row now and I still find him balanced... Against the right champs he is really strong and might look a bit broken, but against ranged champs, especially played as support, he is literally useless. Like, Tahm support is such a free lane and if he cant get his items, he wont do a lot.

Also "after he spits you out, you _still_have full stacks" kappa You basically suggest a nerf to make his W like it already is, which implies that Tahm is already balanced c:

It depends on who the enemy support is, and how good the Tahm is. If your support is someone like Leona then you will quickly find laning against a Tahm support is nowhere close to being a "free lane."

The smart Tahm supports save W for their adc in lane unless it is absolutely not necessary in a fight (i.e. there is only one enemy left, your adc is healthy, and you have 3 stacks on the enemy). The dumb ones are the ones focused all lane on getting 3 stacks on an enemy and eating them.

Penns1 votes

What does "free lane" have to do with free kills tho? The main objective of laning is still to get farm... Tahm support is a free lane because you can always farm against him, he wont do a lot of you position well and you cant do anything if you poke him. Soraka makes her adc basically unkillable as well, but she has no cooldown on her W at all and her kill/ poke potential is still pretty high.

"Free lane" has the implication that you are winning the lane against the enemy. Tahm support makes it a safe lane. Yes, you can probably safely farm against a Tahm support if you play it smart...but so can the enemy adc. Tahm also has pretty good poke; his Q hurts especially against squishy supports and when he is level 6.

If the enemy adc is a far better cser and scales harder than you do than a farming lane is a problem. Some adcs like Draven rely heavily on getting early leads.

Penns1 votes

Both adcs can probably farm safely, but since the only thing Tahm can really do in lane is safe his adc, you will most likely win every trade against him as well. His lane might not be "free kills", but they are pretty easy to get if Tahm decides to fight.

Unless you focus all 3 stacks on the support, remove them from the fight, and leave the enemy adc fighting both of you at once (for 2-3 seconds at least) But with how fast games are nowaday, 2-3 seonnds is long enough to kill the adc and focus the support next

Well yes, there are times an offensive use of his W pays off. I was talking more about some brain dead Tahm supports who are constantly rushing up to the enemy at inopportune times just to try (and fail) to get three stacks off when he reality he is just getting poked down for no pay off.

Not every Tahm support seems to get that Tahm is not a super tanky monster early game...you need some items first.

I don't think he is a useless support. I find his greatest strength is his ability to save people. (warnign slightly extreme example) When my group of 4 finaly got a friend to start league to be our adc, he was HORRIBLE. Like dieing alone to a turret bad. As Tahm I could literally pick them up and move them somewhere else when the little kid i was taking care of called adc, got in trouble, and move them somewhere else. I think as a Support he could find a very healthy niiche as a risk/stupid play surivial aid. Riot's goal when making him was to make a champion that was a heavily armored transport, which i think they delivered nicely. His damage though I think can be nerfed, mostly on his w.

Your joking right, he has one of the lowest attack speeds in the entire game.

Then after he spits you out, you _still_have full stacks on you

Did you ever played him? He loses all his stacks after using W lol
