Seriously, can we stop pretending Supports NEED support items?
I see so many people say that Relic/Spellthief's/coin is 100% necessary for their beloved supports to succeed.
Newsflash!: Their kits were designed to work on their own.
Soraka's job is NOT to heal others while regaining 10 health per minion death or sustain until you both back She's supposed to be this healer with health regeneration on her Q who'll obliterate the entire enemy team by keeping her own's health up as long as she hits her Qs That's what he's supposed to be, no Ancient coin needed, just enough healing to do so!
Lulu's job is to just reign supreme in Teamfights with strong AoE poke- She has a huge AoE Slow projectile, a strong AoE knockup, a mobile Q kite spell and a devastating point and click polymorph. No need for 15 extra damage and 15 gold on each hit.
Janna's job is NOT to damage you with repeated autos that lead up into a extra gold and damage just cause she managed to keep you in range long enough for her to get autos off on you. She's about setting up her tornadoes, knock you up and let her team kill you with the setup she had with managing her tornadoes.
Braum's job is NOT to execute minions with auto attacks and give free gold after repeatedly having hit the cannon minion and kept the ADC in range for the passive to function
The pattern is clear; Support items provide an ADDED bonus to these champion's kit, not something that's 100% necessary. In fact I'd argue that the gold is excessive power and being abused just because the item offers a ton of viability for champions to function in bot lane in general.
Seriously, anyone who thinks it should be a core part of a Support's build is either: A) High B) Dumb as heck C) A masochist or, most likely D) A support main

Edit: lmao whenever a post is made against marksmen or mages it's a meme, or true, but whenever a post is made against supports they're suddenly victims to a terrible crime and must work together to stop an injustice. Literally 8 replies within 10 minutes, based on my notifications, all being the same typical "omg u stupid non support main you'll never understand my suffering"
It's a joke guys, quit being assholes simply because supports were involved and stop changing the subject to be about sight stones and warding.
