Question about Galio

Is he still going to be the premier mid lane tank? Or is he intended to be in another lane now?

I've seen alot of Galio jungle on youtube with the rework. I imagine he'd also make a decent top lane vs Magic Damage top laners...

straight up doesn't have mid lane damage potential.

he might be able to pick a carry in a 1v1 pending builds but he by no means has the potential to be a source of damage for the team.

in terms of laning he has mediocre wave clear and still a big reliance on base stats to last hit and farm up, he wont be capable of sustaining through lane anymore, but will have to get by with un interactive wave clear (avoids fights at all costs).

overall he will have to be played as top/jungle (i have yet to see this done well without snowballing) and potentially support if he plays correctly.

mid lane is not his forte anymore.

he has the potential to get by, and protect a tower from going down with his Q, but he wont be on the enemy turret looking to dive for a kill.

he doesn't need to be a carry, just a tank that does well against mages. His ult would best be used mid lane.

galio can heal off of weak attacks like minions, DFT, dots, and auto attacks the heal value > than whatever was dished out.

this in turn makes them take more damage back from minion aggro than you took from autos, coupled with galios innate bulk, he comes out ahead every time so long as he uses W.

this sets up for an easy kill with flash R.
