Anyone Else Just Getting Bored Of This Game?

There isnt anymore diversity in this game. Back then everyone had their own playstyle. Now its, "Play Conqueror Draven or youll lack damage", "Take ignite on Support rather than Exhaust otherwise your lane will lack damage.", "Take Sorcery on Mage champs besides Vlad."

Back then you had so many playstyles. Now its just 1 playstyle. The playstyle that does the most damage when all-inning people is the play style you're forced to use now. Its just bland and boring, because youre not playing a champion with the runes that actually fits your play style. You're playing a champion with the same runes as everyone else because its the most damage and if you dont take it then youre gonna lack damage/sustain. Ezreal - Klepto. Yi - Conqueror. Mages - Aery/Comet. Tanks - Grasp.

Where did the diversity go that lets you play the way you want to and still be able to do good Riot?

What's killing it for me is the fact that 1 bad player can ruin an entire teams chances of winning a game.

Had a game yesterday where Me, my support. my mid and my jungle were doing well.

My top laner was 0/10/4 on Tryndamere.

We quickly lost that game even though 4 people on my team were doing well.

the game is already dead, not playbase wise, but as a fun gameplay wise. everything that made league..well "league", got destroyed and ruined over the recent years but the potato greedy developers.

Nope. Try playing a game with glacial augment on someone like karma. You might not one shot someone but i can garentee you that it is funny once you get a few active items.

The game is heading downhill, anybody will tell you that. Riot is trying to hard to change everything, when nothing needs to be changed. Back when Urgot got reworked, I wanted to cry. I was an Urgot one trick, and 100% could win in many different situations. But people trying him for the first time complained about how bad he was, and sadly he is gone now. Unnecessary change is killing this game. Scuttlers for example. Riot buffs champs that are already over powered, and don't touch champs that don't get played. Lucian for example, or kalista. People need to take a step back, and tell Riot what will keep them playing, because it isn't the path they are going down currently.

Bored of it? No. But you need variation. Play other games and you’ll quickly find yourself coming back to league now and again.

If you really were bored you wouldnt bother posting on the boards. You’d leave.

I'm not bored of League, in fact, I've got a renewed interest in it as I've just tried out Fortnite and have seen how awful the gameplay of it is myself.

That's been a thing in high elo for a long time, but I can see your sentiment as it has seeped into lower tiers over the years.

I know, it's hard to believe, but botlane meta years ago was revolved around kill laning, and anything that couldn't kill or effectively deny kills were considered "trolling". The "all inning playstyle" isn't really an entirely new concept.

I just want to make my "tactician Lulu support strat" work effectively again. Where she and AD casters can live in actual harmony. But other than that, I'm pretty much living in FF14 now.

I don't know. People still ban Soraka, Morgana and Janna, and they don't do that much damage.

You're playing a champion with the same runes as everyone else because its the most damage and if you dont take it then youre gonna lack damage/sustain.

The reason for this is because the game has gotten more competitive and everyone's gotten better at the game. That's literally it. With all these online resources you can see what people are succeeding with and everyone wants to play optimally so they just copy that. I think the new rune system has actually OPENED diversity in what you see.

It used to be that you go to some site see the most popular runes for that champ, and put it on and play. Now there are multiple runes that people can succeed with. I mean unsealed spellbook Alistar was a thing for a while. Simplifying the system allowed the players to choose based on what they wanted not technically what was the most optimal. Obviously that most optimal choice is still there, so people build the same.

Personally, I think you should take a break from the game. I won't deny that I wish I saw more champions being played, but maybe you've just gone too hard on the game recently. Take a break. Come back in a month or so and try to enjoy yourself :)

I believe that Summoners Rift is kind the cause of this because everyone has been playing it for so long. We just need a some form of change like new map or update some parts of the current one like:

Replacing some Jungle monsters (Wolves, Gromp, Raptors) with something more interesting like Void creatures that spawn or any other monsterous creatures from Runeterra bwcause the main 3 that I mentioned above are somewhat human like deformed animals Wolf, Frog, Chickens. Or having different kinds of monsters spawn in general instead of having to see the same monsters spawn to create more element of surprise.
Add a new different map. Some of us I can imagine don't always enjoy sunny maps like Summoner's Rift. I really enjoy Howling Abyss because I love the atmostphere and having to play on this cold bridge that is half broken on some sides. In addition I believe that Twisted Treeline needs to be updated because no one plays on that map anymore.

Look at the amount of game modes that had different maps and weren't used for anything but for that event, Example: Star Guardian Map, Substructure 43 (Project Map).

I was, but then they (almost) fixed Ahri, and we're starting to see more reverts with Riot revealing that they want to be more open to the idea of reverting updates and reworks if they failed or even if they just "missed the mark," so I have a little hope for the future where before, I had none.
