AD Scaling Support

Hey Guys,

I've been playing as Pantheon in the bot lane as a tanky-ish support, and I've been thinking of this for a while, but what would it be like if we had a support who would scale off of AD on their abilities? Would there be some sort of balance issue because of the fact that supports either have to go tanky or AP in order to have a healthy bot lane experience or something?

Alistar can go AD while playing as support and still do decent thanks to his ultimate.

Gangplank although not a popular pick, he can support and will most likely build crit or AD

Ashe another unpopular pick that will go AD

Volibear although I rather him tanky, he can still go AD and be effective

I kind of want a Bard champion (D&D/Pathfinder themed bard, more rogue-y). He's use AD and have a crossbow in one hand and a shortsword in the other. He'd switch between those and his instrument. Going from light fighter AD type to Aura debuffer (Think opposite of Sona, where his AOE circle reduces the effectiveness of enemies).

I was hoping this new Bard person would be that but unfortunately no :(

Oh that would be awesome! I kind of thought of a Musician/Fencer kind of guy (think of Brooke from One Piece, lol) where he would switch being a melee swordsman who kind of fought like Yi or Fiora, and then use some sort of string instrument and be ranged debuffer with persistent auras, because music never truly stops. (and the toggle wouldn't be his R, he would have an actual ultimate)

I just thought of a cool ability, what if there was a low CD skill shot that when hit enemies lowered they're AD and/or AP? That'd be cool. Could fit with the instrument part of the kit.

Like Tryndamere but more fair, lol. That would be cool, kind of like Kayle's passive, and really help with being a support who benefits from actually being a damage dealer instead of simply a poke/sustain/all-in support. Also give him a spell that would put enemies to sleep if caught in the blast :D

Yeaahh!

We need a D&D Bard hardcore but with both Sona and Bard existing I doubt we'll get another champ like that QQ

Yeah... I feel like we might barely get any primary support characters, or even if we get a character with the support trait, it's probably going to be the secondary one. Seeing how there are other champions that are STILL strong and snowball incredibly hard... It's hard to want new champions and want others toned down to give more diversity in lanes (besides FOTM champions).

I'm pretty sure anyone who scales well with AD would never support simply because he can take farm easily enough. (regardless of his actual abilities.)

Although, back in Nemesis draft. I did fight an AD Soraka, who bought both a Blood thirstier, and a BotRK. The 30% life steal provided an excellent source of health for her Healing, while simultaneously being an off carry.

Yeah, you have a point there.

Only supports that I can think of that scale somewhat with AD are Blitzcrank due to his E scaling.

And Thresh due to ranged auto attacks and his E passive scaling off auto attack damage. (That E empowered auto will hurt a ton with a few AD items)
