Concerns about the new changes for support items
So first of all, I'm very happy to see that we get something new for supports since the few last patchs has been pure chaos down there at bot lane.
That being said, I have a few concerns about these changes.
Let's start with the big one:
, I'll start with its new passif.
Ancient Coin’s existing passive - being near a minion when it dies - is pretty boring and offers nothing to build a quest around. So, we’re redesigning it. Nearby enemy minions occasionally drop coins when killed by anyone other than you, either restoring mana or granting gold on pick-up. (After one coin type has spawned, the next is guaranteed to be the other type.) Collect these coins to complete your quest.
Already I see a big problem, there's 2 situations when you should buy coin: when you play
and sometimes
or when you face a heavy poke lane as a warden or disrupter. For the former, they are mostly passif which mean they don't walk up to minions very often which make the item worthless on them. As for the latter, I'm speaking of lanes such as
and
(aka cancer) when you can't even approach your minions without getting poke. But aside from these 2 situations, it will probably still be decent.
Ancient Coin line*: Gain an elixir that instantly grants a skill point when consumed (you still have a max of 18 skill points per game, meaning you’ll finish leveling your abilities at level 17). Takedowns on enemy champions grant gold and restore mana.
Nvm the 2 situations, what the fuck is that reward. If these changes go through, everyone and their mother will buy
(funny that reminds me of something but
I can't figure out
what). Being able to get a free skill point is so good, let alone extra gold and mana restoration on kills. However, I can see everyone selling the item after the reward.
Relic Shield line: Gain a shield that regenerates out of combat
Hey,
and Rakan called, they want their passive back.
Joke aside, this is nice for warden since early game against poke lanes is fucking hell.
Spellthief’s Edge line: Tribute procs grant a burst of movement speed
: Did someone said ''Spelltheif's buff''?
This is honestly the only problem that I can see if the changes go through, especially since most of them can apply the tribute extremely easily.
