Riot, may I suggest a change to Veigar's ultimate?

Mãge··4 votes·1,013 views

Veigar's ultimate is his signature. It's a big part of who he is. However, it just falls short sometimes (it feels really, really bad when the opponent escapes with less than 50 hp after they're hit by your ultimate). I think the following change would really help Veigar players out.

Instead of dealing more damage based on missing health, the ultimate could do slightly less damage overall, but have the following scaling...

-Deals damage that increases with the target's missing health ratio, based on the target's highest missing health ratio in the last three seconds.

Meaning, if the target were at 1 hp and suddenly healed to full health, they'd still take damage as if they were at 1 HP for purposes of the ultimate's scaling. This would greatly distinguish Veigar from the other mages as THE go-to execution mage on targets with low health, because targets would take full damage (even when shielded or healed).

Yes veigar ult seriously needs a buff. Hitting r and then instantly killing any ap champ without mr is too counterable.

MissingKayo2 votes

If they have no MR, they deserve to die. Your complaint is invalid.

Moooose33 votes

Even with an abyssal, they still die. 100-0 with the press of one button really doesn't need any fixing. He's by no means op, but his ult isn't the problem.

MissingKayo1 votes

His ult can never 100-0 reasonably.

And if you still die with Abyssal, it's your fault for staying that close to him when you're low health.

yes it can. in fact i saw a game thst went so long the veiger i shot the adc with his q

MissingKayo1 votes

That's not his ult. His ult scales with missing health. If you got 1-shot by his ultimate, it means he's like level 16 and you're level 2, or the game's gone on to like 90 minute mark.

Try again.

the ult no longer scale with enemy ap

Wasn't the point, he's saying building MR doesn't really do anything because it doesnt

It isn't just so champs anymore. Catch up

You mean it's completely unfair that someone manages to escape your click on nuke whilst you caged them in and already took half of their HP with one W?

Lmao...

MissingKayo2 votes

Your fault for not sidestepping the W.

Zane Zephyr2 votes

Oh right, the W that takes up almost the entire space inside the cage or he'll use it on you when you are STUNNED because of trying to dodge other things when you get trapped.

MissingKayo2 votes

It's nowhere near that large.

If you get stunned, that's your fault for not dodging it properly and not having a QSS.

Zane Zephyr2 votes

Lmfao, just stop

you're making it sound like veigar is completely incapable of PLACING IT AHEAD OF YOU.

veigar is a piece of shit champ and there's no real way around it

MissingKayo2 votes

And you can see it coming and move out of the way.

git gud and stop crying kid. You're hilarious.

Yaśuo Main2 votes

The W isn't even as efficient as the Q, so there is no point of you to dodge the W. The Q has an insane speed, and is usually maxed first I believe. At level 18, say goodbye.

MissingKayo1 votes

It's harder to dodge Q but still possible.

A carry shouldn't be in the front line to be hit by it anyways though.

Yaśuo Main2 votes

No, the Q is literally near impossible to dodge at all points of the game if Veigar is more than decent. Walking backwards is the best chance you have. Not to mention that MR against Veigar, with all the anti-MR AP items to get, no point. Veigar can fight atleast 4 of your teammates late game. The front line isn't gonna last long.

Also, Q can hit 2 targets. Even if Veigar didn't hit the Q, he can separate the entire team by pressing W, which has no limit to targets and is a massive damage AOE.

MissingKayo1 votes

The team in your theoretical situation is bad and needs to learn how to position then. The frontline should be tanks.

Veigar shouldn't be able to get close enough to surround the entire team with an E. He shouldn't really be able to flank if they know how to ward.

And there is zero excuse for him to catch the carries without the tanks because the carries shouldn't be walking around alone anyways. Tanks can just eat Veigar's damage for breakfast until extreme lategame.

He can't fight against 4 people without his cage. If they all walk into his cage, they are bad. The most he can do with cage against 4 people is just zone-out and stall if his cage is wide enough to cover the whole area (for instance, a jungle walkway).

They shouldn't be there to be hit as the second target either. And there's no excuse for anyone being hit by W unless they're CC'd. And there's no excuse for anyone being stunned by E without someone from Veigar's team forcing them into it.

Clearly I said that tanks don't matter.

I didn't say 1v4 either. You also act like Veigar has no teammates and they wont CC any of the enemy team.

No. Tanks CANT eat any massive damage. Magic Penetration items exist, not to mention that a Veigar can easily cap 800 AP near late game if they are good. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Veigar doesn't need to E anyone. It's a free "make them separate card". Just place that near the center of the enemy team and boom. Not to mention that his Q is so easy to land.

MissingKayo1 votes

Okay, the first two parts of what you answered to was me misinterpreting, my bad.

The third part is just plain wrong. It's not massive damage because even with his standard build, Void Staff only ignores 35% MR. Tanks will have a huge amount of MR, not to mention health. You are the one that needs to learn what you're talking about. He shouldn't ever be close enough to be able to do it into the center of a whole team. Q being easy to land doesn't matter when it's not hitting carries and tanks just tank it.

Yaśuo Main1 votes

Ok. Let's say, standard huge amount. 300 MR, cuz why not. Minus 35 percent, 200( 195 to be exact). If Veigar has Abyssal, they take 10% more damage too. That's a huge hit, not counting flat magic penetration. (wouldn't do much though, not as significant). Health, while really good, doesn't change the fact that they will only be a sponge AND be a CC bot if having that much MR and health. Not to mention AD champions get free food. Tanks itemizing that much MR for just a Veigar will hurt their team more than Veigar's team. It's still a win for Veigar, even if he can't win the battle.

MissingKayo1 votes

Veigar almost never ever gets Abyssal.

That's the point of a tank.

It's called building both MR and Armor, as depending on the enemy team.

And if Veigar is the sole AP carry, there is no reason to build that much of MR unless the game goes on to like 45-60m+ which is another problem, because he's not going to hurt a tank that much anyways until that point unless he gets fed to Mars and back.

Boots (Ninja Tabi or Mercury Treads) + 5 Armor or MR and health items. If the carry/carries is/are more AP focused, build more MR. If the carry/carries is/are more AD focused, build more Armor. Not that hard.

I guess my build netting me a 75% win rate over 50 games is bad then because it almost always has item 3001 because it does so well with his kit. CDR + MR + Damage yes please.

Except the entire point of his kit is to dodge it. If you get trapped then fail to dodge his W that's on you.

Hell some champs can just say fuck your insanely hard to hit stun and jump on him anyways (Zed Fizz Maokai Elise Ekko Vi ).

Veigar's entire kit is damage and a stun. If you dodge the stun you dodge most of his damage. If you can't do that then you deserved to die. And if you are a squishy and took the full rotation and had no MR, guess what? That's what his kit is designed to kill. And if he is 10/2 yes he's going to 1 shot you. Hell if you let him get 100 AP from Q too early its on you. Sure he may not be the easiest champ to play around, but his weaknesses are pretty huge.

That would be nice.
