Sterak's Gage, on who exactly?

So who makes the best use out of Sterak's Gage? I'm asking, because I had originally assumed champs with high base AD like Lee Sin could make good use of it, seeing as the AD being increased would be a higher value due to it being a percentage increase. But now I'm reading and hearing about how Sterak's will be a good idea on Kindred when they release because it will boost her low base AD.... but wouldn't that mean the increase won't be that much?

But I've heard it from youtuber's and players better then I am, or at least higher ranked, so I'm really not quite sure what to believe atm. So what kinds of champs benefit the most from Sterak's?

I personally only ever buy it if I'm playing someone who either uses Trinity Force or Iceborn, so it also increases the spellblade effect, but maybe I've been doing it wrong... I just don't know atm, any help?

Here is a numbered list of factors that make a champion a strong user of item 3053 , in order from most to least relevant:

Total AD scaling on abilities (this is often confused with BONUS AD scaling)
Draws enemy aggro and CC
Max HP scaling
High Base AD
Synergy with

Champions with 4 or more of these factors:

DrMundo Garen Gnar Hecarim Irelia Mordekaiser Nasus Olaf Skarner Trundle

Fun Fact: the base AD % increase on the item (not the additional from Sterak's Fury, but just the basic 25%) is not unique.

Meaning that if you stack them, each one will increase your base AD.

Mordekaiser with 6 Sterak's would have +3000 bonus HP and a base AD of 365.

Not saying you should do that but its funny.

Skarner and Mega Gnar .

Skarner has ~~the highest~~ high base AD ~~(at lvl 18) in the game~~ and I'm pretty sure he works well with item 3078 / item 3025 .

But, Mega Gnar has substantially higher base AD than Skarner and he DEFINITELY works with Trinity Force.

Both like to build durable so the health is not wasted, both are likely to be in the frontline.

Champs with high base AD, champs that have multiple total AD scaling, and champions that rely heavily on item 3078

I agree with your logic. It's better on champions that need some tankiness and get the biggest bonus out of its passive - namely spellblade users.

This sounds like baloney. Black Cleaver would be a superior item for Kindred over Sterak's as far as I can tell.

I find it good on jax because you end up getting trinity and the HP shield goes well with your ultimate resists

Sterak's is basically what Rageblade should be. So yes, you get it on Jax and suddenly when you get low on health, you find a real weapon.

To be honest I just buy item 3053 and item 2138 on someone like Renekton so I can be really huge.

The base AD is useless. The main reason you should EVER be buying this item is the shield. The base AD is tacked on to limit the item's power budget by giving it useless stats that it doesn't want. This allows Riot to artificially limit its power. They have done the same thing with Yasuo's E, giving it random magic damage that he doesn't want, but removing it in exchange for buffing the rest of his kit would just make him OP.
