Please Explain the State of the Meta ADC Builds

Wtf is this build going around? Essence Reaver into RFC? ER into RFC means you build CDR and atk spd, where's the damn damage? I've been playing a decent amount of adc in preseason 6/season 6, and while I don't exactly main ADC I personally find this s**t to be awful. Excluding my Vayne games, the number of games in which I win is directly proportional to the number of games I don't rush ER and don't build RFC in. Imho it's awful. I was 8-1 in my last game and couldn't even 1v1 an 0-5 Leona. Most useless build ever. And people are complaining about BotRK being bad, then complain about tanks being OP because of it... maybe build the damn item and see if it's actually as bad as you say? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I haven't had any problems with tanks building situationally rather than this stupid ER into RFC garbage, every game where I just build situationally goes well and every game where I follow the meta it goes awfully. Also, ER is only mildly OP and RFC isn't OP at all. If RFC was OP I wouldn't lose almost every match I build it in. The ADCs I usually play are Lucian, Vayne, MF, and Ezreal.

I really wish this logic held up. I couldn't even win games with Release Kalista, let alone after ANY of the nerfs. Like my winrate with her is appalling.

She's the only ADC I struggle with. If the logic of "I lost so it's not OP" was true, we would still have release Kalista (which I wouldn't even complain about, though everyone else would).

Really, ER+FRC is amazing on Lucian. You probably just need to learn to play bot lane a little better.

"Learn to play bot lane a little better." I won't say I'm good. But I usually stomp lane as Lucian. This build's just garbage. With TriForce rush Luc I find myself 2 shotting people. With this ER into RFC garbo I can't kill an 0-5 Leo when I'm 8-1 with adequate cs. EDIT: I also don't see how release Kalista was related. I can play Lucian just fine. Just not with this build. You're comparing being bad at a champ to a build being bad (to me). I always found Kalista easy myself, on a side note. You can also have a bit of bad luck in games, etc. I just do no damage with this build. None at all. I run in, expect to kill something that I should easily be able to kill when fed, and don't kill the damn person.

You are more than welcome to build whatever you want on whatever champion. You want to build triforce? Go for it.

Well yeah. I just don't understand why this build is meta when it's so weak. Hey, I built CDR and attack speed, better spam all my abilities and auto you 10 times for a grand total of 200 damage.

You could ask Lucian where the damage is but be careful, he might just oneshot you because balance Kappa

Like any meta build, ADC meta builds are a red herring. A diversion created to lead the gullible to believe streamers and pros are more intelligent than the common man. Build what fits your champion and play style.

lol I like how people downvote anyone that disagrees with meta. The most confusing thing to me is people that do this ER into RFC build on MF. Maybe some changes have happened that I haven't seen, but last I checked her base damage was atrocious but her passive and AD ratio on Q and R made her scale really hard with straight AD, whereas her awful base damage made AS a really bad stat on her compared to flat AD. ER into IE makes way more sense to me on champs like Lucian and MF, after all by going a caster build you're relying on abilities to do damage which happen to scale with AD, not attack speed! Amazing! I don't see why people must get the 30% CDR asap. Although someone else did explain to me that RFC is for that one random long range auto in another reply... I also like how people will upvote someone that disagrees with the OP because OP is dumb even though he said nothing constructive at all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

essence reaver because its broken.

rapid fire cannon for poke trades. you can poke at your opponent for extra damage from outside his auto attack range.

Thanks for the constructive reply. I don't see how that makes RFC worth it honestly, but I guess if it works for most people. It's just really confusing to me how people go with a build that relies on abilities then don't build anything that scales with their abilities. I guess it's just my playstyle doesn't suit it.

dont forget thunderlords gets added onto the poke. it stacks up.

essence reaver 30% cdr means you have your spells available more often. cdr is just that good and imo why adc shouldnt have access to it and a standart crit/as build at the same time.

rapid fire cannon is much cheaper than i.e. you get your power spike before the guy who builds essence reaver/i.e.

i mean depending on who youre playing, shiv would probably be better. but the combination of items is just more reliable for poke.

Vayne's tumble is a lot stronger with RFC because it's an empowered auto. That's all I can really say. I don't hardly ever play ADC.

My problem's not really with Vayne, I do build RFC on Vayne if the situation calls for it. But that's also because when I build it, it's when I believe it's a good situation to build it. I'm really confused as to why ER into RFC is a thing on MF and Lucian. On anyone, really.
