Are there any plans to address random crits for next season?

Impactful RNG has no place in this game. No one feels outplayed when someone with a 1% crit rune on their rune pages gets a lucky autoattack during a trade or a duel.

I've seen discussions about this, but I'm curious about if Riot plans on addressing this going into the 2016 season.

Is crit chance REALLY important enough that you couldn't just remove it? I can see how it adds a bit of nuance, but would the game really be a lot WORSE >from removing it?

These are the main concerns about removing crit. They aren't deal-breakers, but are things we'd have to consider or fix.

  1. Auto attack champions damage starts to feel really predictable. You know before a fight starts what the outcome is going to be.
  2. Closely related, fights start to feel really flat. This is more of a feel issue while #1 is more of a skill issue.
  3. There is one less stat on items for certain champs to care about.
  4. We lose a hook for mechanics ("after a crit...")

would be the current position from Ghostcrawler...so i don´t have much hope that they´ll ever understand that rightclicking and getting lucky with the rng has nothing to do with "skilll" nor that it´s good for the game if you can predict the dmg an opponent does. It´s how the game works for anyone that doesnßt buy crit, and yet i don´t see post that want to make a chaosknight out of every mage, as it´s just too bad if you can predict how much dmg victor will do to you if you go close. It´s like they don´t even know that most Champs play around a given set of 4 skills, not primarily around rightclicking and hoping for the best.
