I wish I had the guts to stop playing this game. I have made so many posts about this and nobody even cares. We are human beings, show some compassion for others points of view please. Although this 'rant' might say otherwise, I'm not stupid, and I am not bad at the game. Anyways. for the longest time I have been in bronze and I have not been able to break out. I have won my lane with their turret destroyed and 2-4 kills in almost every game. I have strong cs (65-80) at ten minutes, I build right based on current-meta pro builds and suggestions. I play viable champions and god-tier champions and have a few main characters that I know I am good at. And some others. I am good at trading and I can play any role, I know how to use momentum, I know how to gank effectively with whatever champion I am playing. But I'll tell you how I got there.

IGN: EMHAWarlord Level 30 End of Season 3 Age: 11-12 I just get to level thirty. I am 11 at the time. I play Amumu, Elise, Jinx, Aatrox, and Garen. I go into ranked promotionals as soon as i can click the button. I play Elise and Jinx mostly with my older brother, 15 at the time, Bringerofjustis. We do pretty good at the beginning, and I am starting to think I could hit silver, possibly even gold off the bat! After 2 wins, I run into a BIG tilt. Eight losses in a row. Great. Here I was thinking I was silver material, at the bottom of the barrel. Bronze V. That whole year, I try my best to win and rank up. But after a while, after I pick up using Darius and Kha'Zix, I start to go nowhere. I change my name to Heartless Rebel. | MONEY SPENT: 100$ | IGN: Heartless Rebel | MONEY TOTAL: 100$ | Level 30 Season 4

Age: 12-13 Somehow, season 4 preseason doesn't allow me to retry my promotionals. So another year of being bronze 5 and trying to rank up. I still went nowhere. At this point on I started giving up Amumu and Elise and Garen. I Pick up Corki, Annie, and Nidalee. I go up one division, and I finally regain my faith. Then I drop again, and every game from then on feels pointless. The end of season 4 hits and I feel a sense of relief as I get to start over. A new champion comes out torwards the end. I make it my DUTY to make sure that I will become good at that champion. Can even this break my new tilt? I change my name to Nightcore. | MONEY SPENT: 250$ | IGN: Nightcore | MONEY TOTAL: 350$ | Level 30 Season 5 14 Oh boy. Finally, I get to retry promotionals and get higher elo. This is when It gets serious. Like get addicted to LCS, skip on homework, watch videos and constantly play this kind of serious. I play my promotionals and I do six out of ten wins. Finally! Mastering Yasuo finally got me somewhere. What does that give me!!!!? BRONZE. FIVE. AGAIN. Tilt happens again and I start to lost faith once again. I pick up New champions, and I give up oldies like Darius or Aatrox or Khazix. The whole time all I do is drift between bronze V,IV,III, and II. I couldn't get higher for some reason. Until I find him. HIM. My champion, as if designed by and for me. Rengar. I spam him and instantly get to silver V. This is where it gets worse. I try to fight vs people in silver V and instantly get demoted. Demotion after demotion lands me in Bronze IV. This is where it all changes. I get good at cs. i got yasuo and annie up to 100 cs at ten minutes almost every time. I pick up Vladimir and Shaco AD. I do good but land in bronze III Before ranked ends. I lose interest in Annie. Too bad, I just got all her skins literally so I feel bad. End of season 5 now. Yay. Still not even close to where I belong, Plat IV.

| MONEY SPENT: 200$ | IGN: Nightcore | MONEY TOTAL: 550$ | Level 30 Season 6 15 Promotionals again. New false hopes and new false dreams that are next up in the chopping list. 4 wins and 4 losses at the moment.

Look me up sometime on lolking or friend me on league of legends. Hopefully I can get higher than bronze this time. 3rd times the charm. I can't get the guts to give up after all the money I spent. That is the only reason why I haven't quit. I hope Riot actually pays attention this time and has the time to read this long story. But whatever. Please leave comments. I want to talk to you guys.

I've looked at some of your matches on OP.gg and noticed a couple things right away. First off your CS isnt really as high on average as you say it is. That Rengar game only 66 cs in a 30 minute game. Even for a jungler that is very low. The Orianna game a couple games below that you had 85 cs in a 32 minute game. Again, not to be mean but that's incredibly low. Another thing I noticed is that your deaths are generally really high. The rengar game you died 13 times and the ori game also 13 times. The one Jhin game you had 25 kills which looks good on paper, but you also had 23 deaths which is bad. Think about it, that means you gave the enemy team almost as much gold as you got from kills. The Irelia game you are 11/12, which again even though you have a decent amount of kills is actually a bad score.

You have to start thinking of every death as a mistake. Every time you die, it's because you messed up in some way no matter how troll your team is or how hard they baited you into dying. It's your mistake every time so every time you die you have to think "how can I avoid dying like that in the future?". There are some deaths that are "worth" like dying for an inhib but for now you should just focus on not dying. Every death gives gold to the enemy team and takes you out of the game for a number of seconds and during that time you can't farm or put any pressure on the enemy team. And pressure is very important in this game.

The fact that you say your early farm is good but your overall farm numbers are so low, and your deaths are so high tells me that you spend early game maybe farming decently but playing way too aggressively and probably get ganked a lot and stuff. Then mid and late game you probably roam around trying to get in fights and get kills and probably chase enemies too much instead of focusing on getting turrets and securing dragons.

This game is more like a game of chess than it is an action game, you have to start changing your mindset to value turrets and inhibs over kills. Everyone wants to see teamfights but this game is all about objectives. You need to start thinking about what objectives you can take. Every time you win a teamfight ask yourself "what can we take now?". Then take what objectives you can but DONT overstay with low health when the enemy team is about to respawn. That's a huge source of throws.

Also, if you have taken the mid inhib, NEVER keep grouping mid while their inhib is down. If you have super minions attacking down mid lane, one of them will have to defend mid which means you already have pressure in that lane. Which means you can create a situation bot or top where you are taking a turret or inhib 5v4. That's how you close out a game, by putting continous pressure on the enemy team when you have an advantage and taking every lane's inhib. Grouping mid when you already have the mid inhib is another huge source of throws.

Also, don't ever chase people over huge distances to try and get kills, especially into areas where you have no vision. Always prioritize farm over kills. If there's 15 minions gathered up in front of you and a low HP enemy running away, ALWAYS just take the CS instead of chasing. If you can't kill him in the first few seconds of chasing, stop chasing and go take the minions because 15 minions is just as much gold as a kill but with very low risk.

Last thing is lower your champion pool a bit to like 2-3 champs. Normally for bronze/silver players I would say stay away from yasuo because he's kind of hard to master but you seem to do well with him. Then pick like 2 others and stick with that. It's a lot easier to climb when you use a small champ pool of champs you know very well.

Don't lose hope, it took me almost 900 ranked games to get out of Bronze. I used to think I'd never get out too and made a post similar to yours about a year ago on here. Last season I peaked at Plat 4 with 50LP so it can definitely be done. Just remember there are boosters out there who could boost thru bronze with 90% win rate easily, so it is carry-able. Don't worry about your team.

I approve this message. You're hitting a lot of the same points I did.

First: unless you were higher then bronze in the previous season, you're not going to place higher after promotionals. Everyone placed a few tiers below what they were last season.

Second: if you are consistently placing in bronze, then I'm sorry to tell you this, but with your current skil, you are in bronze. Someone who belongs in a different division will get themselves to that division. If not? They will stay where they are

rtbf477586281 votes

That is so cliche to say man. I've given everything up for this and that's all you can say? Seriously man, give me some respect! I know the first point, but it is dumb. The second part is dumb because I can't control who they play. I go against people like Yi and jax constantly and they can't really be countered. Especially heimerdinger.

ModKnightsKemplar2 votes

Honestly, if you understood the game, you could break out. And I do not say that to be mean.

The game, in bronze, is not ANYTHING like playing the game at high elo. This is the truth. In bronze, you need to know how to beat bad players, and many of the champs that are good at pro level are not as effective in bronze, because they require teamwork and follow up. You just need to know how to steamroll your lane and carry even with people who aren't great on your team.

Don't just copy pro builds. You say that like it means you know anything about the game, but it doesn't. If anything, it means the opposite. You have to evaluate what would actually work at your elo and pull it off in many games to climb out.

rtbf477586281 votes

I agree on some level. When you say I just 'copy' pro builds, I do not. Please, seriously, check out my account and my builds and It's not what everyone gets in pro levels. I use it as suggestion more like. Besides, The 2nd paragraph isn't really true either. People so good in high elo's as Azir or Ahri or Twisted fate don't need other people to do what he needs to do. Besides, even if that really were true, what could I do to change that?

ModKnightsKemplar2 votes

Well... I see where you're coming from. Azir is a lane bully. TF can tele anywhere on the map by himself. Ahri can catch and kill with no team.

But Azir and Tf, in particular, are played by pros because of their team potential. TF is best when you can tell your team your plan. Azir is great because he can wall in a teamfight and split the enemies, which is most effective with a team.

Let me give you an example from my own experience. I am trying to climb back into gold from silver right now after placements. Totally normal. Actually, it's a good sign of my MMR that I didn't drop to bronze; many people in gold did.

Anyway, I like to play duo bot with a buddy who likes morgana. Morgana is a pretty good support. She has been for awhile. She gets play in the LCS (she did today on a winning team). Her black shield is strong, and her binding is very rewarding for skilled players who have a team to follow up.

Morgana sucks in silver. She just isn't good most games. That's because when compared to pros, she has fewer good players to black shield, less follow up on catches, and teams that don't understand her strength. You know who is much, much, better, and my duo buddy has been wrecking on? Karma.

Karma is NOT a good LCS support. She's weak in many ways, mostly bringing poke and small amounts of utility, and she doesn't see much play in LCS. But she's way better than morg in silver. Why? Because low elo players can't lane. And Karma brings immense lane pressure. We play Varus/Karma and force opponents out of lane easily. The jungler doesn't come because he thinks they are bad for losing to us, and we get to steamroll because people in silver are bad. Nearly every single game, I win with this cheddar cheese because I take advantage of my opponents lack of game knowledge and communication.

This is what I mean. Morgana is a better champ in LCS, but Karma is better for winning against baddies (when baddies are also on your team). She's more self-reliant than morg. She brings more damage, and therefore more carry potential, than morg. She can steamroll better than morg. With karma/varus, we don't need a team. We just quietly get ahead and start winning the game for our team. We don't use pro builds. We aren't even using pro champs (at least not in their "proper" lanes).

BUT, we understand that in low elo, steamrolling lane can be really important. This is because junglers and laners don't talk well in silver, and we can abuse that to win. It's a winning strat. Playing "well" doesn't help, because to do that we would need a competent team. And we often don't have that.

Thank you for taking the time to type all that up. I agree completely and I never saw it that way. I have a question though. Could you give me some info 2 things for me? Number one would be How to play versus Lucian, Zed, Jax and Yi in lower elo games. The second is out of who i do play, who to play for raising elo? (Please check my account. My IGN is Nightcore.) Thank you for your time sir.

You're welcome! I hope I don't come across as overbearing, but I definitely believe in Riot's system. It can be very deceptive to try to play like pros, because there's an entirely different set of guidelines for playing up there.

I mean, figuring out how to play against specific champs comes from experience. There are people who could write entire guides on how to counter those champs (and have). I was only in gold last season, so I'm not sure I can be considered an expert. I just try to be more fed than those guys, mostly, and not have to worry about them, but there are definitely counter strats (Zhonya's/QSS is huge for playing against Zed, for instance).

As far as your individual stats go, I can come up with some pointers. First, you have SUPER bloody games, almost every time. Look me up, and compare my average kills and deaths with your average kills and deaths. Very different, to a comical extent, actually. :) Now, you consistently have a better KDA than I do. That would be a fair point. BUT, I think this MIGHT point to a lack of understanding about objectives. It seems like you're going for kills. You largely succeed at that, which likely contributes to your sense of superiority over other bronze players, but it doesn't always win the game for you.

Try to think more about budgeting your time and resources in game. Is it better to tower dive and get the kill, or let the opponent b and take the tower? Oftentimes, I choose the latter. Your kills and deaths suggest you rarely would. The tower gives more gold to the team, and more map pressure to make plays later.

As far as champions, you are playing several that I think are good for climbing. Corki is great because of the poke and the mid-game power spike that many low elo players don't understand. Annie is great because she's relatively easy to play and, again, can really abuse players who don't understand zoning and kill potential. Yasuo has always seemed strong to me on people who understand his kit and have good mechanics, and I didn't think I would ever see a bronze player have a strong record on him. So kudos for that.

Honestly, that all reinforces my perception that your question shouldn't be about champs. You seem really good mechanically, for your elo at least (maybe higher, I dunno). I would try to focus more on objective based play. Secure dragons, keep up warding, and take structures. Let the kills get away from you, it honestly doesn't matter. Watch the map, and ping lots. For instance, if you force 4 people to come mid to fight you on Yasuo, ping top and bot towers. They are wide open. Tell your team to go for them. They won't, always, but it's smart to point it out.

And then back off. Don't die 4v1, even if you come out with a triple kill, it isn't worth it to get shut down. Play the map. It feels really good to get three kills and only die once for it, but it's actually not the best play in many situations. They already came mid and wasted time, so take their towers elsewhere and don't let them take you down. Even if they take mid tower, that's a two for one, and they didn't get shutdown gold on your corpse.

Does any of that sound helpful? Am I striking on points that you sometimes see in your games?

pretty sure they were joking

i don't mean to be rude, i know you're still young and learning, but if you deserved higher than bronze you would be there. when i play games against people in bronze i am absolutely stomping them in lane and then taking that advantage elsewhere, winning the game.

games in bronze are completely different than games at a gold/plat level. bronze doesn't farm, doesn't teamfight effectively, doesn't ward objectives, makes super risky baron and dragon calls, and does a weird ARAM style teamfight for at least 5 mins every game. i avoid all that shit and stomp people in bronze EVERY GAME. how? because i have learned all the stupid shit they do and how to exploit it.

getting out of bronze is easy as long as you focus on improving yourself. talk to people in higher elo. ask for advice. look up guides. go on /r/summonerschool. spectate high elo games, watch high elo streamers, look up statitstics and guides for your favourite champs, practice mechanics in custom games. fix the things you are bad at. your rank is 100% your own doing.

The problem honestly isn't with you, the problem is with League's faulty raking system.

There are so many terrible bad things with it that the whole system is just a complete mess and doesn't do anything right in terms of placing players where they should be based on skill level.

Anyone will tell you that LoL's ranking system isn't based on skill, but rather luck. You won;t get anywhere in the higher ranks without getting on a lucky win streak. It's really sad for me to say this but its true, you could play amazing but still lose because you were unlucky enough to get the team mates who wanted to try Annie jungle and ADC Janna, or some other bullshit.

You could play amazing but lose because the enemy team was lucky enough to grab two OP champs from champ select and completely face roll mid game.

LoL's ranking system punishes you more for losing then it does rewards you for winning, the system is designed to work against you, not help you improve. You could win and get 15lp and then lose the next game and drop down a whopping 30. Thats completely unacceptable for a ranking system. Then you add demotions on top of that and Riot stands there with their thumbs up their ass wondering why this community is so fucking toxic.

because your shitty punishing rank system makes it so toxic, thats why Riot.

They stand there and expect players to just accept where the system has put us and thats that. They stand there and expect us to accept loss after loss because their matchmaking cant properly match and balance out teams. And they stand there while we get face fucked by a buffed Xin Zhao and call it good balancing game design. A fucking fish out of water flopping on a keyboard could balance better then the games current balance team.

And what really gets me, the icing on the cake? IS that they have the BALLS to come out to the players and feed us crap like "We don't have the money to make a sandbox mode or do this because Riot is sooo broke and poor and waah waah waah" FUCK YOU they clearly made 1.whatever fucking BILLION off us last year. And THEN they come out and say that the players bases opinion doesn't mean jackshit unless their LCS pro players.

So trust me, its not you, the whole rank system is toxic as fuck, League ranking system is so much of a Joke other MOBA's actively make fun of it for how punishing it is for the players.

So no, it's not you. Despite what trolls and others might tell ya, you aren't wrong for wanting to get better, you aren't wrong for believing you should be in a higher elo. What IS wrong is the way Riot and their system treats you for thinking that way.

Carry on, my wayward son.
