Riot is considering a system with a large patch every month, and smaller patch every two weeks

Riot Ghostcrawler: 'We are considering a system in which a large patch is released once a month, and every two weeks a small update that completes the previous one'

That applies to balance patch for patch changes, skins and new content shouldn't be affected.

The main benefit for that is that they will able to switch between the larger and smaller patches to tackle the problem that the game currently has, stuff like AP itemization and melee fighter itemization (Diver items when?) and ship them throughout a season.

Personally, I like it. Having a month where the meta is essentially refreshed, with a tuning patch after two weeks to make adjustments (and hotfixes when necessary) sounds like a nice pace. We still get the same general balance cadence, but every other one makes a bigger splash.

This plan looks like it stems from good intentions, but I'm still skeptical about it. Putting big updates on a fixed and frequent schedule has had mixed results in the past, and is the reason why the roster updates ended up not doing well, as reworks, items and systems changes were forced out or rushed to fit a deadline. While it might not be particularly reassuring to players, allowing a more freeform schedule where changes are given as much time as they need to complete could allow for much higher-quality work, and less follow-up needed over time.

Keep in mind that along with the class reworks, there were a ton of item rework and introduction of new items.

It’s true the class reworks have been hit or miss most of the time but I don’t think they will something that large, they might rework some of the items only and introduce new new items in the next large patch

Also they said that individual update shouldn’t be affected, I don’t about the rework process from the drawing board to the live servers but they should have more time to spend on a single proper rework.

Again they are considering and they might just scrap the idea

I feel like there is one flaw: there is more pressure to make large changes in big patches, even if it is not needed.

That might throw things into chaos.
