Cleanse
So I think that as a summoner spell Cleanse is a great idea but sadly is in a rather weak place right now. It's cooldown time I feel is extremely long to be useful and the fact that it's tooltip is misleading doesn't help either. "Removes all disables and summoner spells debuffs affecting your champion and grants 65% crowd control reduction for 3 seconds."...However it doesn't remove the grievous wounds portion of Ignite and can't be used to break suppression. This feels especially unfair as the item equivalent in QSS and Mercurial Scimitar DO "cleanse" these effects. Having the same cooldown as Ignite and Exhaust seems a little steep as well seeing as how using Cleanse is mostly reliant on your opponent and dodging the right CC spell. A three and a half minute window between uses is a long time especially considering all of it's weaknesses so far and that it does not remove debuffs that do not have CC (minus suppresion) such as damage over time spells like
E.
I would like to suggest one of three possible buffs as I think Cleanse as a summoner spell is currently weak right now but can open up some nice strategic plays when used correctly.
- Lower Cleanse's cooldown time, I'm thinking 180 seconds. This still leaves time for counterplay and is to long of a Cd for someone to abuse having two cleanses, say if someone built QSS.
- Have Cleanse be affected by Distortion boot enhancements. This would lower the CD to 168 but would keep the 210 second CD for the early game.
- Allow Cleanse to cleanse ALL debuffs like QSS. Honestly it should already do this but seeing as how this is probably intentional I would still consider it a buff. Essentially this would allow Cleanse to get rid of effects like Malz and Skarner suppression, drop Fizz ultimate like QSS or spell shield does and remove DoT's like Morekaiser R or Twitch passive. Just for clarification, I am only suggesting that ONE of these buffs be implemented. Having all three would be insane. I am most partial to the third one myself but it is also the one I think would not be used as it could be seen as a direct nerf to a lot of champions.
Keep in mind when you pick Cleanse you are making the choice to drop another summoner spell so asking for a slight buff doesn't seem that unfair to me, as of right now it just doesn't compare to heal, ignite, exhaust or teleport.
