Everyone complains about ranged top laners, but everyone forgets who forced ranged tops first.

Honestly I don't understand most arguments against Ranged tops in the first place. Most of them don't make sense if you think about it far enough.

Well Darius is always ban so I wouldn't counter him, Yorick can take out two of them after an iceborn, and to most peoples surprise a Jax can go toe to toe with Tentacle Queen o.o

ranged top was picked because they shit on all melees except for Irelia, not as a response to a couple of melees who are good against other melees

Honestly this, the champions who feel extremely awful to play against in a melee vs melee match-ups play a part in ranged top laners being more common.

This is what happens when you're obsessed with "fantasies" and your entire design philosophy revolves around this obsession. Rather than letting champs actually fail once in a while when you fuck up and fall behind (the MOBA way) meddler injected a ton of duelist stats into Darius and Fiora just so they're never at risk of falling completely flat on their faces (9000 free AD steriod and %hp true damage wtf) all in the name of ensuring "fantasy". It's straight up lazy and bad design but what can anyone do, league will continue to pump out extremely overpriced skins, people will continue to buy them and riot's devs will continue to be allowed to release shit like plants.

Oh I see the logic, 'These champs are capable of getting ahead in lane vs other melee's if they play better, clearly I should take a ranged cancer champion to prevent them from being able to express their mastery of their champion. Wouldn't want to risk them getting to play the game and maybe getting ahead if they turn out to play better than me. I'd rather push them around by default for 15 minutes and lose the game due to not picking a real fucking top laner and so gimping my team comp then take the risk that I might get beaten in a more reasonable lane matchup.'
