I don't understand what is so detrimental about Magic Resist.

I may have posted the original thread in the wrong section of forums, but I'm still kind of hoping that I could get some insight into the matter. Because the whole bruiser argument against MR doesn't make sense. Bruisers shouldn't have so much free damage as to abuse building pure tank.

Most bruisers can't go pure tank. They have good base damage, but they still have to build some damage to keep up their damage or else watch their damage ratio fall off hard. Even Lee Sin needs a damage item in order to have his damage remain relevant.
