Poll: Is Morellonomicon a situational item?

I'm curious on whether or not Morellonomicon is viewed as a situational item, or an item that will, (even at some point in the game) be effective, just like old Liandry's was.

If it is indeed viewed as situational, I would argue that the magic penetration be taken off the item, (which is effective in almost every build path) and place it on a different item so Morellonomicon can just be focused on its grievous wounds.

Let the people who want to focus on magic pen build into it without worrying about grievous wounds if they don't need it; But of course, this isn't a problem if Morellonomicon will be effective at some point in the game. So what do you guys think?

Personally Morellonomicon is a situational item depending on who and what team you're facing. You can go flat ap build on a mage and still do decent damage, but if the enemy team has to much sustain then yes Morellonomicon for the go.

Absolutely, and as it should be. Old morellos was problematic because it was a must buy on every champion, which really felt bad for healing based champions because GW was in every single game. New morellos is simultaneously more powerful than old morellos, but also less useful early on because of the lack of cdr and mana, thus making it a crazy good buy when facing a lot of healing as an aoe mage.

It just depends what kind of sustain they have. You might not always need it even they have a healing support, but if they have a self-healing damage dealers (Nasus Warwick Swain as examples), you'll definitely want it.
