With the champion road map released, we now know who's next in line for reworks however, one champion was not confirmed to be on said list but really needs some love, Good ol Volibear. With a 47% win rate and a .4% play rate, its safe to assume hes fallen a bit behind the curve. But why is he not as good as the other junglers?

  1. All the tanks items hp went down and his W scales with max hp
  2. Easily kited, CC murders his kill potential, plus plenty of adc's have self peel
  3. Lack of dueling potential, gets beaten out by most other dueling champions. (And now master yi gets buffs? oh boy) 4: Adcs's are way too hard to get at now a days (his main target)
  4. Bad clearing speed early on (the most important time in this meta)
  5. Bad base stats
  6. Why play him when you can play Warwick ?

Riot nerffs to him in 6.13 pretty much killed his clear and dueling potential while at the time, monsters like LeeSin Shyvana andRengar were pretty much one shotting everyone but nope we gota nerf the bear thats never used in pro play, or a must pick or ban.

Yes i get it hes oppressive when hes strong theres no denying that, but you know who else is oppressive when their strong? EVERYONE ELSE. My suggesting is to either revert those nerfs in 6.13 or give him minor buff like you did with Aatrox who is now at a positive win rate and in line for a rework. My preferred action would be to nerf everyone who's too strong but i have a feeling thats not gona happen anytime soon. Riot please tell me you have something planned for a being thats supposed to rival Ornn but cant even fend for himself.

I swear nobody on the boards ever reads anything Riot talks about. They've had talks about Volibear recently, go looking every once in awhile you might get educated.

The thing about other champions being oppressive when they're strong is that there's (usually) counterplay involved in their kits. If Zed is currently oppressive, you can at least dodge his abilities, and still have a decent chance to win. With Volibear, there's nothing to dodge, and if you're capable of escaping him, then he's not being oppressive.

Zed ult is point and click with the only counter play being dont go near him and if you do get a hold of him he can swap to 2 different shadows if there already down or just shadow away. Voli form of counter play is dont get in melee auto attack range through kitting and cc which is a hell of alot easier.

The thing about Voli and his version of oppression is that there is no counterplay when he's strong. When Voli is strong, he can get up to you really easily, stick on you, and kill you before you kill him. Made easier with item 3800. Yes, Zed's ult is point and click, but his main damaging abilities you can dodge if you're fast enough. That's counterplay.

Memory serves, Meddler mentioned that he might have some buffs/QoL Changes coming in Patch 8.4 (Said their fingers were crossed so far). There's supposedly a Displacement/Knockback (Champions only) on his E & Possible buffs to his Q Movespeed.

Also Reav3 mentioned that Volibear as of right now is one of 16 champions that have been Labled High-Priority candidates for a VGU. Although the chances of Volibear getting a VGU are unlikely for the time being since they need to find a direction for him first & he may get pushed back if they find a direction for another champion before Volibear.

In case anyone was wondering, these champions were the High-Priority Targets after Akali & Irelia are completed: Chogath DrMundo Corki Shaco KogMaw Fiddlesticks Kayle Udyr Mordekaiser Skarner Volibear Nocturne Nunu Kennen Rammus Pantheon

Until Volibear get's fixed, we'll just have to make due with what we have. Who knows, they might make one itty-bitty lil change to an Item & he might come back off it (Changes to item 3004 /item 3078 Back in season 6 made Yorick slightly stronger before his rework).
