This is not a team game...

As a tank I'm unwilling to take 1/4 of my hp eatting a skill shot for my squishy teammate.

Unless you make soak tanks a thing where I'm willing to do something for my teammate then this ins't a team game.

Edit: Nerf damage!

Soak Tanks?

A low cc but very durable champion. Think mundo, but less damage, and higher durability.

Meat wall champs. I can dig it. My only concerns are that bad players exist, the ones that flash into the skillshot you were gonna block for them, and that after a while I'll develop a fetish because my gameplay consists of just me getting beaten for others.

On that note, a Martyr champ sound like a cool as fuck concept.

Back when we had 1500 hp warmogs, and FoN, where you could actually build so many tank stats you weren't really killable this is how the game was played. Thats also why top had wet noodle fights. It was supposed to be the idea behind braum as well, but it just didn't really work with how much cc they gave him, and with tanks being a thing of the past. I just don't see survive-ability being a thing right now.

I really want durability back.

A martyr champion does sound pretty cool

Passive- Reduces damage when inbetween your ally and an enemy. R-You can die for your ally, and give X bonus stats for doing so.

Would be an interesting champion concept.

I was thinking along the lines of

R: Create a zone in a large AoE around yourself. Redirect 20/30/40% of damage dealt to allies to yourself as physical damage for 2/3.5/5 seconds.

Champ would need some peel though. I get why Braum has CC, because he needs if enemys get around him so a dash or at least a slow would be necessary.

bruam is pretty close. his wall, dash to ally, and great ult peel. Taric too, doesnt mind taking some hits, espically if your good and can time that ult right for backline and front line invulnerability

Oh I certainly agree but I was more brain storming idea at this point. A champion that's main gimmick is taking damage as a way to save allies is a cool one. Low cc, it's just them body blocking everything to keep a vital ally safe.

That's why I brought up Braum actually, he's closest to what OP wants but this type of kit needs some form of crowd control otherwise the average assassin will ignore them and kill their carry. Which inspired the ult idea, it lowers the enemy assassins burst, possibly enough to save a teammate in dire need.

I actually really like that ulti idea. I think the rest of his kit could be hammered out around protecting an ally. Maybe a shield ability, maybe a damage reduction ability... and then I guess we could give him a damage ability.

If he gets a shield like ability I do like the braum type jump, where he jumps in between the enemy and his ally.

=Its an Idea i really like. Braum is close, and so is shen. A taunt as main cc, and perhaps an ultimate that allows clutch plays/saves that depends on how you use it.

For me personally, I would love to see a living tiki totem, from the same region as Nidalee.
