Scuttle Update didn't just hurt Junglers, it gutted some top laners.

Any midlaner can take smite or unsealed spellbook and grab smite and contest scuttle, which is bizarre and nobody would have ever predicted that being meta, but what about top lane? If your jungler wants to help you contest it and you're not someone who can duel at level 2 then congratulations you innately put your team behind just for wanting to play a champion. Want to bring someone like Kennen top? Unless your enemy laner is worse at dueling then you have just thrown scuttle for your team.

I wouldn't even be complaining if it weren't for the fact how massive the lead can be. You want ganks, gold, vision, and to help shut down enemy jungler? Take scuttle. If you can't, you will get ganked and you will likely lose the game. And unsurprisingly I want to actually play the game and play my champion. What sucks more is you can't take smite top since you need teleport 90% of the time. Also what kind of game needs 3 smites?

I'm completely fine with scuttle being an important objective, but it shouldn't be so important not taking it means the enemy has a massive lead. I thought the patch was centered around making sure the infamous Kha 2:45 ganks top would stop and mid lane didn't need to spam the assistance ping, but now we still have to rely solely on our junglers to win games? Why?

No they cannot. There are a ton of mid laners that will get shoved in early by things like tf, tal, and everyone gets shoved in by aurelion sol.

Namely melee champs and probably anivia.

A lot of mages, arent good in skirmishes that early. Litterally the same thing you're saying about top laners.

A veigar isnt gonna want to just leave his lane and skirmish level 2.

I will say though, a kennen top will probably just have the option to shove in his laner. So kennen is fine. Being range level 1 and 2 vs melees is a big advantage.

I agree somewhat with the title, but I disagree about all of your points.
