Anyone open to the idea of a crit rework?
I'm fishing for opinions on what other players think about a crit rework.
First, let me offer mine: Crit is an outdated stat in my opinion. It doesn't feel interactive, and it's largely based on luck. A critical hit shouldn't be about luck, but about skill. Therefore, I suggest a rework of the stat entirely.
My suggestion is not at all complicated. First of all, I want to remove the stat completely. The current crit items will then be reshaped to work in a more consistent manner.
For instance,
can have a passive that stacks up to 6 times, and if attacked a 7th time, they will take a lot more flat damage. This will reward ADCs in particular, who build attack speed and stay on targets for extended amounts of time.
can mostly stay the same, but can maybe get cooldown reduction based on level instead. That would make it a really interesting choice in my opinion.
Other items, like
,
,
and
, can keep their passives the way they are, but offer more in terms of other stats, since they are relatively good items with unique effects. That way, other champions can take advantage of their effects without hampering themselves for not building more crit items.
This is of course only an idea, and I have no idea what would be good or balanced whatsoever. These are just my thoughts. If you want crit to stay the way it is, feel free to express that opinion, even if you don't have a particular reason for it. If you want some other rework to crit, let me know.
Carry on.
