Personally I don't really care about the comments per se. I do care about the logic behind it because the impact of deaths aside from obvious timers and removal from map isn't really known.
Here's my vote for showing much gold the opposing team gets from your deaths. If people are unaware, they won't be inclined to die less because they don't see the impact.
It's hard to say without having more data available, but it seems to me like both players did their jobs and contributed just fine. They probably had an equivalent contribution in entirely different ways. Both went positive and both participated in teamfights, so why nitpick?
Seems to me like it was either a sore loss or a big ego on someone's part. No offense if you're jungle/top. It could be good info to have, but I don't really feel like it would provide an accurate picture of how much a player contributed. The damage taken stat should fill that need just fine without being ammo for people to toss the blame/credit around.
