I've been searching around to find if they're okay to use and I'm getting some mixed results.
I want to do something that isn't mechanically orientated. I want to use a software to macro one key to cycle through all the F keys (to cycle through my teammates) with a set time at which is presses the keys. Would this be allowed?
Also, if the above is allowed, out of curiosity, would a gameplay macro be allowed? as in a wardhop macro on lee sin?
Thinks such as a chat messages on a key press (“warded”, “mid missing”, that kind of stuff) is fine.
Macros to execute a combo in one button press, or any other gameplay macro are absolutely banned and will get your account banned for 3rd party programs.
The case you want to use them (cycle f keys) would be a fringe case, but I would err on the side of caution and not do it. If it was just a single button to cycle through f (press it each time to move the screen), that would be fine, but since you want it to do it automatically, that’s not something that sounds so innocent
Anything that presses a sequence of keys for you is a no no, that being said I am pretty sure you'd never get caught.
I'd imagine you'd get the same response here as any other competitive game. Frowned upon at best, and a firm 'No' at worst.
Some players are going to feel like your cheating, since your entering less keys to perform more / complex actions. That being said, no one can really stop you, can they? Nor can they tell if your cheating. Some bots are obvious, but keyboard hacks? Eh.
That being said: I think its moot either way, as the mechanical skill of league is not very high. It's nothing compared to say, Starcraft or Overwatch. It's simpler in terms of how many buttons you press and how fast or well you move your mouse. You aren't going to increase your rank much by using keyboard shortcuts, skill in league is in your head, knowing whats a good idea or a bad idea.
That wardhop macro is definetley not allowed, as for the function keys, not sure. I would ask riot support about it first just to be safe
any non text macros are bannable offenses, text macros are only allowed in moderation.
