So is there a point this time around of playing ranked still? does it help with the placements of next season? or is it going to be different with all the changes they will be rolling out?

in the preseason it is a good time to boost ur mmr for next season going into. one season i took my smurf to plat in pre season and placed gold 2 next season so it does help

Keep playing ranked so your MMR stays steady.

Last year I took a break during pre-season and placed like Silver 5 because I didn't play in months and got like ape teammates for 8 of my placement games.
