Its annoying trying to change your name and cant because a player under lvl 30 that hasnt played in the passed 2-3 years is occupying it.

You do know that after a certain inactive period you can take the name right? just wait until it's available.

that was an event where they did that, it doesnt automatically do it anymore. Riot made it so all inactive accounts could have their names taken, now you can no longer do it.

cant remember but it was awhile ago, I even had opened a ticket about it a year or so back.

Look at their level

it is that many months or a minimum of 6 months if lower than level 6 before the name frees up

Also it is useful to use a site like http://www.lolskill.net/ to see when they last payed a game. it will say how many months it has been if you search summoner.

And it is still this way. I was kept track of Ashe Bot which was on a level 24 account and 24 months after the last game was played on the level 24 account someone took the name. This was a little more than a month ago.

well when you own all the champs and runes, IP becomes useless may as well use it on name changes.
