A collection of terrible Summoner Spell ideas
You've been warned already. These concepts are terrible. Simply the worst. So don't get surprised when it strikes you how ham-fisted and awful they are. That said, on with the show.
Problem: The relative utility of summoner spells is drastically out of skew.
Solution: Unskew that shit.
Flash is the biggest offender. You know this. I know this. A trained monkey smashing his keyboard whilst flinging his own fecal matter at the monitor knows this. Flash has been nerfed time and time again, but never with any noticeable impact on its popularity due to the sheer sphincter-constricting awesomeness that instantly moving a few Teemo-lengths from point A to point B can result in. So by now you're probably wondering 'well, what are you going to do about it?'.
I'm glad you asked, my hypothetical inquirer.
is now coded to stop dead at walls.
You're probably already starting to froth at the mouth, aren't you? Well, it doesn't stop there. Flash would also gain a hefty boost to both its range and a respectable reduction on its cooldown. And it would regain its ability to disjoin projectiles. That was a thing it did back in the day, but got removed on account of Flash being hilariously over-loaded with power. It would still be a great way to escape and engage, but suddenly appearing on the other side of a wall would become a thing of the past.
At least where Flash is concerned.
Because now we're going to talk about Ghost.
Does everyone recall that Season 1 animation? The one with a plot about Kayle getting ganked and her team coming to save her shiny metal-coated angelic butt? Remember when Ryze used Ghost to run through a collapsing turret? Well...
can now blink through walls.
Not unlimited, mind you. Being able to duck back and forth through a wall would be outrageously cheesy. The effect would work akin to Magical Journey whilst operating on a 4 second cooldown, meaning you could pull it off at most three times during the Summoner Spell's duration. Dive through a wall, drop your burst on some poor, unsuspecting slob, dive back through. That would be cool, right?
The fun doesn't end there, though! We've still got a few more gimpy Summoner Spells to take into account.
How about our old buddies
and
? This is a pretty easy fix. We just combine them. Typically, when you're needing to remove hard CC from yourself a decently powerful shield wouldn't be remiss, either. This would put it more or less on par with Heal, given all the nonsense that it provides.
And finally, there's the much maligned
. In this age of non-existent mana costs on everyone (except immobile Mages, because, y'know, fuck 'em, right?) Clarity is less useful than ever. Well my friends, I believe I've got a solution. Clarity now allows the user to re-cast one non-Ult skill regardless of its cooldown state and without putting it on cooldown. Think Knifecat passive. This would be a pretty slick alternative to Ignite for champions looking to get a little extra oomph out of their rotation whilst at the same time keeping the mana flowing.
So there you go. Shift Flash's power around a little, straight buffs to three mostly ignored Summoner Spells, and the removal of Cleanse since it's part of Barrier now. Feel free to let me know how awful these ideas are in the poll below and through your scathing, sarcastic remarks.
