A solution for LeBlanc, riot look at this

LBmyBB··20 votes·3,480 views

With the very drastic nerfs coming up on lb, it's no surprise that she will be completely horrible after this. Her rework in my opinion, was just another trial and error. That doesn't mean you can't fix it though. I have devised a kit for LeBlanc that I think completes her deceiver title, and still make her an assassin, none of this "kite mage" crap. This kit compromises both her old and new abilities. I also didn't want her to be the QRW girl she was, and I didn't want her to be the fail after the rework. The goal is to start out weaker and gradually become stronger. Her falloff rate was ridiculous, and this solves it, and also keeps her balanced so people can beat her.

Passive - Mirror Image            When LeBlanc falls below 45% health, she will go invisible for 1 second spawning a clone.  LeBlanc and the clone reappear, and the clone will cast fake versions of the spells that LeBlanc casts and cast them with her; and it will casts all spells with her with the exception of mimic; that means she and the clone can cast E, then W right after that.  The clone lasts 9 seconds.  Has a 60 second CD.  LeBlanc and her team can see a line in her health that marks where the 45% hp is.

Q: Sigil of Malice              LeBlanc projects an orb toward an enemy, dealing damage.  If LeBlanc triggers the mark in 1 second, it will deal 50% damage.  If she marks it after, it will deal the full damage.  The mark lasts for 2.5 seconds. (Base stats:40/55/70/85/100) (scales with 35% ap)

W: Distortion               LeBlanc dashes toward a target location dealing damage in an area.  For the next 4 seconds, she can teleport to her starting location.  Missile speed scales with ability level, starting at the lowest it's been and increases to max speed at level 5.  (Base stats: 60/85/105/130/155) (scales with 55% ap) Missile speed is not definite and may be changed back to normal due to the wait of the Q.

E: Ethereal Chains                 Flings illusionary chains that deal damage when they hit an enemy and slow them by 25%.  If they remained shackled for 1.5 seconds, they receive extra damage and are rooted for 1.5 seconds.  (Base damage:30/50/70/90/110) (scales with 35% damage)

R: Mimic                  LeBlanc casts a mimicked version of the last spell she cast, dealing increased damage.  When she casts the ability, she will spawn a clone with her in the same way as mirror image but lasts 5 seconds. Mimicked abilities do not have regular restrictions. In other words, mimicked q doesn't have to wait 1 second to deal full damage, and mimicked w has full missile speed. If LeBlanc presses and holds R, she can spawn a clone globally and will attack the nearest enemy with her last used ability, does not do damage. This part has a 150 sec cd.        Mimicked Sigil of Malice - deals 80/160/240 plus 65% of ap        Mimicked Distortion - deals 150/300/450 damage plus 70% of ap.        Mimicked Ethereal Chains - deals 60/130/180 damage plus 65% of ap.

I hope riot looks at this. This way she's not the old instaburst and not the flawed rework, and soon to be useless walking ward. This allows LeBlanc to also be a deceiver and always keep her foes guessing, and rewarding them if they can figure her out.

EDIT: I may have posted this twice by accident. Sorry if that is the case.

How about they stop changing things just because they can. "Leblanc is a kite mage not an assassins cause be fucked up that hard" god it's disgusting.

WHAT. THE. FUCK. DID. THE. REWORK. FUCKING. FIX.

FUCKING. NOTHING.

If I hear one more retard tell me how riot's retarded thoughtless reworks are totally fine even though they fail on every front because well now the champs are totally less toxic because they say so I'm going to kill said retard.

I'm also getting sick of the people who keep normalizing broken champions like old leblanc with the powercreeped antifun toxic retarded bullshit reworked versions of their old selves like new leblanc. They're not the same, not even close. Old Leblanc was horribly designed. She didn't make mid fucking unplayable, which is what new leblanc does, a champion that takes 1/50th the skill to play than any other because her kit has 5 champions worth of stats in one (for the 190000th time, riot has again failed to properly valuate mobility). The fact that the idiot who reworked her hasn't been fired yet really makes the question of what does it actually take for you to get fired from riot a very interesting one. I wonder if I shat on a plate, gave it a roman name and went, here meddler, new champion, I really can't tell at this point if he would reject it or just eat it.

ModAcademy Kayn3 votes

New Leblanc actually has to rely on hitting her E to kill you, and has to wait a second before being able to go in for max damage potential. This gives her opponent a little more time to be able to outplay/outduel or simply survive Leblanc. (The entire point of the assassin rework)

Old Leblanc only need Q-W-R, and could then retreat at within the second. The only time when people could "Outplay" Leblanc, was when her Dash speed was too slow to hit anyone, which in turn made her shit, until they buffed it back halfway.

So, why don't you tell me, why Old Leblanc is less/equally toxic than the new one, instead of acting like an angry teenager? Because you're not giving any points to why you think what you think.

No I'm not interested in wasting my time trying to teach you how to live in reality. You believe whatever nonsensical fantastic theorycrafted garbage you want, the same fantastical nonsense the retards at riot games believe when they post those class rework goals then ruin champion, item and meta with every thoughtless change they make that ends up accomplishing none of the aforementioned goals, often times the exact opposite, just don't tell me about it because I really don't give a fuck how you think 1 + 1 totally equals 3 prove me wrong.

Thingis tho, old Leblanc, while she was incredibly frustrating in certain lane matchups, was a single target assassin, her job in a team is to assassinate a squishy, that's her whole point, but beyond that in the late, she's pretty useless tbh. The trouble with new lb is she has to be super strong early with massive damage, because she can't assassinate late on, when u have a delay of 1.5 seconds on ur burst in the late, doesn't matter how fed u are (unless u can actually kill them without passive) u couldn't kill an enemy assassin, or even a Hypercarry adc, which again, is her purpose. This they compensate with super strong early damage, making her more obnoxious than before in lane, but completely useless late unless she can dumpster lane. The other option ofc is to nerf her as they are next patch, but she will just become unplayable, as she will no longer achieve anything, no early burst to dumpster lane, and still a shit late game. Also, she has become this kiting Mage, which I and most other lb mains hate.

Old lb, yes was hard to play against, but not impossible, and she did fall off late, just not as bad as now, new lb, on live, is worse to play against in lane, and falls off a cliff late, post 7.5 she will be almost unplayable most likely, so tell me, what has the rework achieved?

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

If she got fed due to her extremely unpleasant early game, than yes, she was very relevant late game, leading into "Don't poke the bear" gameplay, where you just sit as far as possible from any actual interaction.

The reason she has that damage, is because of the delay. The delay that can be played around. In return, she's been given tools to help play around that fact. Her Ult giving control of her Decoy without being close to death allows for outplay without just bursting down any enemy. It just requires more thought than "Press all the buttons and hope they die".

Yes, she has a stronger early, but it's a stronger early that can be outplayed by dodging the chain, and keeping out of range of threat during the Mark's warmup period.

As a Mage mid lane, I heavily prefer new Leblanc 10 times over old. I actually have more room to work around. Considering how this post hasn't gotten a lot of attention, probably serves a notice that others agree in a similar fashion.

What has the rework achieved? It's achieved making it so assassins in general require more thought than pressing buttons on a keyboard, while giving opponents a tad more room to outplay. Leblanc was lacking in both categories, and the rework did push that towards a better point to work off of. Does it need more work? Definitely, but it still served it's purpose like the rest of the Assassin Update.

That's true, but that's also the reason she is unbalanced. Leblanc basically has most of her burst (which is higher than pre rework) on her passive instead of her Q, meaning that she only needs to land 2 skills to kill someone.

Increasing skill required indeed

May I ask if you ever fought Leblanc at mid? Because basically, any midlaner main could flame you here for what you said. Old leblanc could be countered by forcing her to max her W to clear waves if you pushed while never coming in her W range to nullify her damage. Now Leblanc doesn't need to land her W (even if she maxed it), she will still kill you at level 6, while having huge burst and waveclear pre 6.

What has the rework achieved? It's achieved making it so assassins in general require more thought than pressing buttons on a keyboard, while giving opponents a tad more room to outplay. It didn't. If giving counterplay means transforming an assassin into a mage who has the same damage as that assassin but with an AOE, then yes, it worked. But an assassin isn't just a mage with mobility, it's a single target-focused damage dealer (AD or AP) with high enough mobility to catch the enemy. While Leblanc still has her mobility while keeping her damage, and that damage became AOE and less relying on her W/RW to deal damage, becoming a Q-E champ with mobility tools. Basically, instead of transforming Leblanc into an assassin dealing single target damage after 1.5 seconds, it transformed Leblanc into an AOE champion, just like Leblanc's old W/RW combo which was causing issues pre rework.

False. New leblanc can kill anyone with a Q and autoattack, if W or RW landed, including ADCs that bought some MR (edge of night without taking in account its active). Even more false since Leblanc needed to land her E after her RQ combo to kill someone who had that much MR

Old Leblanc only need Q-W-R, and could then retreat at within the second. The only time when people could "Outplay" Leblanc, was when her Dash speed was too slow to hit anyone, which in turn made her shit, until they buffed it back halfway.

Old leblanc needed Q-W-R then escape? If she does Q-W-R that means she's already in her autoattack range (Q range) when using her W, then uses RW in melee, meaning that both dashback are in her autoattack range. That means she has no escape if she does that.

So, why don't you tell me, why Old Leblanc is less/equally toxic than the new one, instead of acting like an angry teenager?

As equally toxic would mean that the rework had been pointless, that is, if she is as equally toxic. New Leblanc basically had a stronger laning phase than when she had her silence and before her nerfs, snowballs much more during her early/mid game and is basically perma banned compared to old Leblanc, with a higher winrate. What could be qualified of "toxic" in the old Leblanc was the passive clone and the RQ burst from far, which only worked because carries weren't building MR at that time, while ADCs now build hexdrinker + edge of night and still die from current Leblanc's RW-Q-E burst since she no longer relies on her RQ's damage, while still having her clone on her ult.

Because you're not giving any points to why you think what you think.

Better than giving only wrong points

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

Ain't got a lot of time to type this so I'll pick through a few points.

New leblanc can kill anyone with a Q and autoattack, if W or RW landed

So you mean, if she hit Q-W-R + auto attack? That's what you literally said.

If she does Q-W-R that means she's already in her autoattack range (Q range) when using her W, then uses RW in melee, meaning that both dashback are in her autoattack range.

If you were in Auto range of Old Leblanc, and your name wasn't Tank, you're dying. Old Leblanc didn't even need W to kill most targets, going for the targeted Q-R-E (3:36 at the video with Kallista 80% of her health gone from click and point) , only using her dash to get within range, and then bailing if things went bad.

Quip of the third paragraph

Yes, they do still die from the burst of Leblanc, she's an assassin meant to take out single targets. However, said burst is longer now. In an actual teamfight scenario, Leblanc needs to keep around her target a little longer than she used to. I can't find any oneshot footage online, but if you can find some showing this extreme burst you talk about, than that could clear up a cloud for me, but right now, I still have not experienced anything like you've said, nor to the extreme you talk about.

Better than giving only wrong points

That's subjective. And that's kinda the point of discussion? To talk and disprove other's points. Not listing any points doesn't do anything. I have my perspective, and he has his, now let's see where the differences lay.

Civafu1 votes

So you mean, if she hit Q-W-R + auto attack? That's what you literally said.

What I meant was that current leblanc can kill anyone by using W or RW to activate the mark, then shatter it with Q and proc thunderlord with an autoattack, which can kill anyone with ~70 MR

As you said it's if you WERE. Meta shifted now, around Edge of Night/Malmortius ADCs. Also, Leblanc was 22/3/7 in 27 mins VS a kalista with 40 mr (as much mr as level 1), so yeah she can do that.

Current Leblanc can burst that much damage with E alone (applied damage vs kalista there was Q+RQ's first hit, dealing (310 +80% AP) + 200 (+60% AP)= 510 (+140% AP) as Leblanc is level 15 with Q maxed in that video, while with E maxed at level 15, current Leblanc would deal (240 +100% AP) + (240 +80% AP)= 480 (+180%) AP with the E alone (shattering passive, not taking in account thunderlord).

With 500 AP (in that video), the difference between 510 (+140% AP) and 480 (+180% AP) is so big that that kalista would have actually died from E alone, and not left 1/4 life.

What I meant is that new Leblanc's meant to pierce through the magic resist meta (edge of night + malmortius) with her absurd burst without even using W and RW (which explains the PBE nerfs), despite being over 1.5 seconds, while the old Leblanc needs that W along with her full burst to reach that much damage.

With the shift to tanky carries meta, new Leblanc is meant to have much more damage, but that damage is way too much, making it useless to use her W to deal damage, since you can just kill anyone who has under 80 MR and less than 2k hp by using a double dash to get close to them and bursting them with E/Q.

What I meant there is that any AD carry (especially lethality carries who tends to play really ranged) would include at least item 3814 + item 3156 in their full build, if not item 3026 to try to negate Leblanc's burst, but in the end Leblanc ended up balanced around that making her burst too big, and AoE with bouncing Q, making her too strong during the early game, but weak due to the delay during the lategame, instead of nerfing the MR build for ADCs

That's subjective. And that's kinda the point of discussion? To talk and disprove other's points. Not listing any points doesn't do anything. I have my perspective, and he has his, now let's see where the differences lay.

The issue here was only that you said that he was acting like an angry teenager, while you did exactly the same

First paragraph Quip

Yeah, she still has to wait for the mark to proc. That's a solid 1-ish second in where I can do things to defend myself, or go on the offensive. I find it much more preferable than just getting deleted.

Second paragraph Quip

Yeah, her E does a lot of damage alone, but that requires her to have to get both Procs to hit, which leaves time inbetween for something to be done, be it receiving Aid from a Teammate, or somehow escaping the range. Old Leblanc either W into range for Q-R-E (as was the common combo in the video) if you weren't in range for both W's, or if you were within range, Q-W-R, as was the case with the Pantheon running into Bush Leblanc.

If what I'm getting from your post is correct, please feel free to correct me, you're trying to say new Leblanc doesn't need W to kill you anymore. From what I showed in the Video, she never needed W to kill you in the first place.

Third Quip

I haven't seen a Maw, nor GA, on a Carry for ages, but that is just my experience. All I've seen are the Norm Lethality, Youmuu's, Edge, Black Cleaver (before it got it's changes) and what ever attack speed item of their choice. Duskblade and LW were fairly common too, but that's just what I've seen. I'm fairly unlucky in getting common trends in my games.

Last Quip

WHAT. THE. FUCK. DID. THE. REWORK. FUCKING. FIX.

FUCKING. NOTHING.

I don't know about you, but the tone that comes off from reading that, to me, leads to angry teenager. I don't use excessive caps, for one, and when I had originally posted that comment, he didn't have that wall of text underneath actually explaining what he thinks, which left only the caps and the whole "killing retards" thing. There's a lot of visible anger coming from that post.

Civafu1 votes

Yeah, she still has to wait for the mark to proc. That's a solid 1-ish second in where I can do things to defend myself, or go on the offensive. I find it much more preferable than just getting deleted.

The issue with that is that she can zhonya during that time. Not only that, but it makes her damage so big she doesn't need to combo anymore during lategame, and only needs to land a W/RW then wait the mark duration, rather than needing more skill via combos, she becomes a 1-2 shot champion. If pre work Leblanc was in the current meta, she'd need to at least do Q-RQ-E (or W) to kill someone, meaning that she'd need to get close to actually do (an ADC will never do that, unless Leblanc is CC'd.

Leblanc can W in melee and use E then zhonya. She will be unkillable for the chain duration and will deal that damage, then just TP back. A delay doesn't explain too much burst in a single skill, that'd be like zed with half his total damage moved to his ult's damage, because WQE damage is too fast.

If what I'm getting from your post is correct, please feel free to correct me, you're trying to say new Leblanc doesn't need W to kill you anymore. From what I showed in the Video, she never needed W to kill you in the first place.

Unless you could do a proper Q-RQ-E, she didn't need indeed, if she could get close enough to be in QR range, THEN landing E (after the RQ cast), still giving a little reaction time for mobility ADCs. New Leblanc can instead do that with RW (not RQ)+ E, or RW + Q+ autoattack.

Well that's because ADCs usually go for maw for only huge burst ap champions focusing them, including Leblanc. In my last 7 ranked games as Leblanc, 3 ADCs built item 3156, 3 built item 3814, 1 built item 3091 (kog) and 3 built item 3139. They couldn't build GA most likely because those games ended before 40 mins and they didn't have enough gold to go tanky after the laning phase. However, in those games there are fed bruisers (rengar/graves in this case) going item 3156+item 3814+item 3026+item 3071 and some tanky items, not to mention that midlaner assassins that were reworked along with Leblanc were meant to use item 3814, increasing their early MR.

DarthFantasia1 votes

Yet all of the other assassins can still instakill except LB... She was over powered before early/mid game but fell off hard. Now she is(was, since she is complete garbage now) still overpowered early game and falls off even harder. If you land one E early game, it is almost a guaranteed kill. Late game, on the other hand, is a complete disaster. No one is going to let you stand there for 2 seconds and wait to proc crappy passive. You are going to be CC'ed and killed almost immediately. On the off side that they dont CC you, you will most likely have to retreat before you can proc your passive. Oh, wait. You have to wait to reuse your W now as well.

I really like your ideas but I doubt that they could give her again her QW poke, even though it would deal reduced damage.

Instead, they could just make the sigil activation time scale with Q and reduce her chain range and hitbox.

Not gutted to trash but there won't be a real reason to pick her over Kata/Ahri/Zed/Talon.

Lee Sin wasn't picked much in LCS last year and they buffed his W shield.

Shaco has been nerfed and he's currently sitting at a 55%+ winrate in high elo; similar situation we had with LB. Yet I don't see his damage on E reduced to 1/3.

But you probably don't use stats to defend your argument. I get it.

What I'm hearing is that if u don't like something then you think they shouldn't exist. When u try and balance something, you have got to think of the player as well, not just the victim. Is it still fun to play after it gets gutted? You need to check yourself.

Thank goodness for the balance team (once again) for not holding back on the heavy nerfs for leblanc. She is just outrageously strong and needs to be put in her place after so long of her destroying solo queue.

Current nerfs would be like nerfing Draven's R damage because he has too much damage on his autoattacks. Without nerfing the passive, Leblanc will still destroy soloQ during the early game, current changes are just making her playstyle more easy to read by making her use only 1 combo in teamfights, yet trying to call her a deceiver.

Pale Pirate2 votes

Your goals are plausible. Removing old Leblanc's QRW instakill is a big yes-yes. It's more or less the thing that made her gameplay unhealthy back then. Removing new Leblanc's "kite mage" thingy is also good. Having a RW-W-RW-W-Q combo is cool, but then you realize it also means farming minions ( I should mention that Leblanc had one of the smallest average creep scores according to champion.gg) and staying on the edge of the E's range. And less rotation damage, possibly (more below). As for your recommendation, I'm afraid it's a little overloaded. The slow on E isn't necessary. Could you also explain the Q? The description is confusing.

Now, I don't think the new Leblanc is unplayable. She just needs a direction fitting her playerbase.

I like the idea of what you've done with ult, I personally hate the new heimerdinger style ult, it's too clunky, I have to say, tho, changing missile speed on W is a big nono, it makes it hard for the enemy to predict what's happening, and Riot have taken a stand against things like that, changing speed, range etc. like the rework of Rengo necklace, I also like what you've done with the q, allowing the time delay, but I always thought a better way of slowing the burst, would be to have it do what it does in the passive now, as in, a delay before any damage, but have a 2s wait at the start, and have that time decrease with 2xCDR, so at 45% with the mastery and 40% from runes and items, it has a 0.2 s wait

While it does take a bit more time to cast, I believe overall it's better and allows for more diverse combos and holding the r button for global clone seems like it would also being annoying to get to work. The delay would also add a slight delay to increase counter play if you use it in the middle of combat

The only reason I made it like this was because I didn't like the current mimic system. Where you press R and choose an ability. Thats fine and dandy and all but you cannot back using ur W. In other words, if you dash, then press R, you can't move back unless you mimick something. That is very frustrating and confusing. Then later I thought, well "always keep them guessing," that global clone has to go somewhere. R and hold is the only way.

How about they just need her numbers to be slightly weaker than they are now, but not as drastic as they are in the PBE? That way, no one has to deal with the cancer that is her Q-W insrakill at level 2 from pre-rework, but you can still assassinate provided you land your E.

What about her horrid late game though? And they wanted to reduce LeBlanc's one shot potential, yet all of the other assassins in the game can still one shot.?.? That doesn't make sense. I agree that she was broken before, but she is complete garbage now. No one asked for LB to have wave clear in exchange for having to wait half an hour in order to proc her passive or reuse her W.

Remove the invisibility for 1 second on her passive or increase it's cooldown. 1 second is plenty for her to get away, and as you know, LB is not gonna stay in lane under 45% health, so it might as well be a better GA every 60 seconds, as invisibility is no longer counterable.

It's just way too good of an escape. She ever gets low, she just walks right outta there, W'ing if needed. And the cooldown is so short, it'll be up again instantly. In fact, it's so short, even if you pop it in lane, it'll simply be up again the next time you try anything. Seriously, it's a million times more useful than any other revive ability or passive in the game.

Either that, or untargetable LB for that 1 second, as well as making her invisible, then spawn the clone and reveal her (perhaps allowing her to choose a direction to teleport to, in that time, in a short area.

Old leblanc main here, as leblanc mains said for eternity. She was unfair in certain lane matchups. She is too much of a powerhouse early and falls off too hard late.

Every leblanc main agreed, lower base damage, up her scalings. Lowers her early game kill potential but keeps her relevant late. That was all they needed to do but bam out of nowhere full rework turned her into this godawful kite mage kit.

Maybe chain scales shouldn't be down and Shattering orb at 40% then yeah and W on 40% too then you're brilliant tbh

Did some numbers and mechanics changes about your kit about how I think it should be. Thoughts about it?

Passive - Mirror Image

•Invisible time: 1 -> 0.3 seconds •Leblanc's clone can cast fake versions of her skills by pressing ALT+skill >(Leblanc's clone has a separate CD for her skills; using a skill with the real Leblanc sets the clone version's skill on CD) •CD: 60 -> 120/100/80 seconds CD at level 1-6/7-13/14-18 •Clone duration: 9 seconds -> 6 seconds •Line showing 45% HP -> visible for the enemy team too

Q: Sigil of Malice

•50% under 1 second, 100% after 1 second -> 50% (+5% per 0.1 second, max 150% after 2 seconds) •Mark duration: 2.5 -> 3.5 seconds •Damage: 40/55/70/85/100 (+35% AP) -> 55/80/105/130/155 (+45% AP)

W: Distortion

•60/85/105/130/155) (+55% AP) -> 60/105/150/195/240 (+60% AP) •W speed doesn't scale with ability level

E: Ethereal Chains

•Slow: 25% -> 20% •Damage per hit: 30/50/70/90/110 (+35% AP) -> 30/60/90/120/150 (+45% AP)

R: Mimic

•Whole map clone: Hold R key during 1 second; releasing it before activates mimicked ability instead •Clone duration: 5 seconds -> 2 seconds after the skill ends

•RQ damage doesn't increase/decrease over time -> RQ mimicks the increase/decrease over time aswell •RQ damage: 80/160/240 (+65% AP) per hit -> 80/150/220 (+55% AP) •RW damage: 150/300/450 (+70% AP) -> 150/250/350 (+65% AP) •RE damage: 60/130/180 (+65% AP) -> 80/150/220 (+55% AP)
