Why do we loose double the LP we win?

Can anybody explain this to me?

I get like somewhere between 13 to 16 LP after a win, but a loss costs me like 23 LP. Why is it like that? Does the gain/loss of LP depend on how fast a match ends or how 'badly' one performs depending on his KDA or some other stat?

If you are losing more LP for a loss than you are gaining for a win, then your MMR is lower than your current rank, so the system is trying to get you to the division that you belong in.

Your MMR must suck

If you have a problem with loose lp, you better tighten it up.

Loose? You mean LOSE. And probably because you surrender.

It depends on how your performance is lately, generally if you have a negative win rate, your lp gain will be lower than your lp per loss.

What's your win rate in ranked?

It depends on your MMR.

I still have an inflated MMR for example. If I win a game here in Gold V, I get about twice as much LP as I would if I lost a game.

Meanwhile if I ever got somewhere around Plat on the other hand, I'd probably start losing more LP from one loss than I could gain from a victory.

Yours must be heavily deflated. In this case, the system suspects your actual skill level to be far lower than your current rank, so it sets up a bias in the LP calculations to push you down.

I think it's based off of the differences in MMR. If your opponent is off much lower MMR than your team, You would expect to beat them, an it's often quite punitive if you don't.

But that would be making assumptions based of MMR and match making. The other possibility is the difference between your MMR, and your actual rank. round off the LP gains/losses until your rank more accurately reflects your MMR.

Some of these answers are correct, but rather vague. Essentially, your mmr is where the system believes you should be based on your wins/losses. If the system believes you're supposed to be in Bronze 5 and you're currently in Silver 5, then you'll lose more LP than you'll gain for wins because it is trying to place you in your proper division. To prevent this, you have to win more. It's a crap system, in my opinion, but it is designed to place you in the tier of players who it believes you can successfully compete against. On the other hand, if you win 15 games in a row and you're in Bronze 2, then it will (example) believe you're supposed to be in Gold 3. So, this is where you would gain 30-40 LP per win and lose 5-10 LP per loss. Get it?

LP gain/loss has nothing to do with player performance or game length. All that matters is your MMR and the MMR of the opposing team.

It sound like you are losing games that the system thinks you should win which is resulting in you losing more LP than gaining. Eventually this will even out but for now you're kind of stuck with it.

Not all people have this problem. I'm getting 25+ LP a win and only losing 15 LP a loss.

Right now, you say you're getting 13-16 LP a win, and losing 23 LP per loss. If you were to win 5 games in a row, then you'll notice your MMR will go up per win (if even by 1 or 2---depending on the number of total games you've played). Your losses will also drop from 23 to 21 (example). Keep winning games, and it will reverse itself.

Your LP gained or lost corresponds with your Match Making Ranking (MMR) which determines what kinds of players you're matched up with.

Losing more LP on a loss than you gain from a win is a symptom of facing opponents ranked lower than you. Thus, according to the MMR system, you should either be beating these players fairly consistently, or they should be at a higher rank than you. This is pretty common after a losing streak or being on tilt.

It's depend of your MMR man
