Has anyone had any luck with the new Poppy?
What builds do you use and why?
What builds do you use and why?
I like Black Cleaver into Deadman's. She can proc Black Cleaver super fast between the double hit from Q and E. Deadman's is great because the passive is procced by her passive, giving it good opener potential.
I've had a little bit. Personally I don't like going full tank on her because, despite how well she can scale with tank stats, I never feel like a truly unstoppable force. Personally I like to go with
and
(if i can get away with it) because of how high her base damage is, you can blow someones face up pretty hard even without landing the wall stun and second half of your Q (and even harder when you do land them).
From what I've seen most successful builds are
+ full tank and essentially becomes a wall or foundation for the team denying the front line from reaching the back line
hardcounter cancels her w completely denying tentacle usage.
General nuisance vs dash champions as expected especially

I've her a few times top lane and once in the jungle and I have seen quite a bit of success when playing Poppy. I actually played her support as well and it wasn't bad at all. She has some pretty strong early game damage, especially if you manage to get the stun on the E. I tend to get Black Cleaver first, and include an Iceborn for the sticking power and a Dead Man's Plate for the slow on the range auto attack from passive. My end game build will look something like this:

Sterak's is a guide item because you utilize the spellblade passive in this. You get quite tanky and your damage is nothing to be laughed at either.
The main essential items are Black Cleaver and Dead Man's, everything else is really up to preference and your playstyle. I tend to opt for a little more damage in that build instead of more straight tankiness with something like a Randuin's.
Why is dead man's essential instead of IBG?
I play mostly ARAM, and she's much more effective there now. Lurk in the bushes, snowball-E-Q their lowest member, use your W to cover your escape, rinse and repeat. I usually go Iceborn into Gage, then juggernaut or tank items as appropriate to their team composition. I don't know how helpful this is for you, but it is what it is.
and
are core. Then it depends.
If I am ahead, I go for
and
If behind, its usually things like
or
for Armor, and
for MR with a late game
if it gets that far.
Titanic Hydra, Ninja Tabi/Mercury Treads Iceborn Gauntlet, Maw of Malmortius, Deadman's Plate, GA.
I've been doing this since I started playing her and never had any trouble. High damage, good tankiness and enough mobility to position yourself.
I hard carry when I play Poppy, and I've gotten a pentakill on her shortly after her rework. ^^
Sapphire Crystal > Sheen + Boots (upgrade ASAP, depending on their team comp) > BC > Triforce > Dead Man's + Maw (build them at the same time, resist pieces first) > BORK or Sterak's.
I don't play her as a tank, I play her as an assassin bruiser. :3
i would say that her core items are
,
, and
as i get them almost every single game unless its a full ad team you drop
or the super rare full AP team you drop
maybe.
is probably the best item in the game for poppy since she uses every bit of it. the move speed lets her get in position/catch up to people and her passive procs the slow since her buckler procs like a melee. other than the 3 core items its up to you. more mr for heavy magic, armor for AD, or more dmg for having fun and reking kids lol. for starting items i go
and 4
vs an AD if i want play safer early,
if im vs AP, and
with 3
if its an easy lane or its AP so i can build it into
as fast as possible. she plays like a typical bruiser for the most part. her passive is her bread and butter now. use it to poke and zone if you're ahead or use it to last hit if you get zone. you can also use it to get the last hit shield before you trade or sometimes use it to bait an E into the wall when the try to step on it. hope the helps Poppy is BAE [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
first off. you probably wanna go tanky. with 2 damage items at most. you don't wanna go full tank because you get a bunch of armor from W passive. especially below 40% so its kinda useless to go all out on armor and MR.
any build with 200 armor or so. 150 MR and some damage is a good build honestly. but you want to get items that have health and damage. i like to get titanic hydra. and frozen mallet. or sometimes sterak gage. just land a wall pin on their carries in team fights
all your items should have health. i would get the mastery that gives you health. strength of ages. or the other one that gives you damage reduction. you'd be sitting at like 4-5k health and hella tanky. your damage falls off late game but early mid u can 1v1 a lot.
Noone says anything about
?
Whenever I played old poppy sheen was my 1st item. I know that after rework she doesn't have that 1h KO Q anymore, but she still can burst pretty heavily.
Tank build with scaling armor, MR, physical scaling runes with Thunderlords and spected into the last tree.
Usually item wise i build armor and magic resist with health, Deadmans for the chase and auto shield hit slow. titanic hydra for that extra damage
