These Badges do Nothing But Encourage the Solo Queue Elitists...

To hate on anyone who doesn't play solo (If you don't believe me scroll through some of the comments on Redmercy's video). They will not stop the demand for a true solo queue. So what is the solution? Well first we need to look at the facts.

If you just want to read what the solution is scroll down to option three.

Facts

  • There is a large demand for a true solo queue. If doubtful refer to the boards and the uproar on Reddit.
  • There is a large demand for a dynamic queue. This may seem shocking but in Riot's first post about Dynamic Queue they said, "In every research survey, the majority of players wanted to try Ranked, but also wanted to play with friends and did not have enough friends always online to play Ranked Teams." http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/GD/JNwgrzih-qa-about-dynamic-queues-and-new-champ-select
  • There is a demand for ranked 5v5. Already fixed.
  • High elo queue times and match quality has been adversely affected but it's unknown to me whether this is due to a lack of supports or the dynamic queue (In my personal opinion it's likely a combination of the two)
  • Some players are using Dynamic Queue to get boosted. However I would like to note that not every dynamic queue player is boosted, contrary to what the community believes.
  • There are problems with four man premades.
  • Old solo queue was not perfect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNVz-C0-qLY
  • Dynamic queue does not prevent solo players from climbing.

Option 1, Just Pure Solo Queue

In essence get rid of Dynamic Queue... Which although I am sure that is what many would like it is not really an option. For the following reasons.

  • League is a team game and solo queue doesn't reflect that.
  • You isolate those who want to play with others competitively but can't consistently get a team of five together.
  • Toxicity would drastically increase.

Option 2, Copy DOTA

https://acupofenglishtea.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/frabz-please-dont-kill-me-a34e6f1.jpg

Now just hear me out before you rip me in (DOTA) two. In DOTA there are three ranked MMRs, Solo MMR, Party MMR and Team MMR (5v5). What happens is if you queue up solo you're competing for Solo MMR. If you queue up as a duo or trio (No four mans allowed in DOTA) you're competing for your party MMR. If you queue up as a full team you're competing for your team MMR. This seems great in essence but there are a few problems.

  • Parties and Solo players are paired with and against each other. This is a complaint that occasionally pops on DOTA's Reddit but doesn't seem to be that big a deal. However this would not apply to League of Legends as pure solo queue is a must have for many.
  • If a high elo solo player starts playing with a group of low elo players in a party he could boost them.

Option Three, Take DOTA's System and Make it Work For Leauge

Okay first there would be three queues each with a separate Elo.

Solo Queue

  • You queue up alone, nice and simple.
  • You have to pick from three roles (Only to be implemented if queue times too long.).

Dynamic Queue

  • You queue up as a group of two or three, not four.
  • Everyone you queue up with must be within one division of each other in both there Dynamic and Solo elos. This should limit boosting.
  • Every player must select three roles (Only to be implemented if queue times too long.).
  • Duo Queues must cover three roles.
  • Triple Queues must cover four roles. Up to five roles must be covered if queue times are too long.

Ranked 5V5 Teams

  • This would function based off the current rules for ranked teams.

In my personal opinion option three is the best solution as it leaves Dynamic, Solo and team players satisfied and has a few fail safes in the event of matchmaking problems.

if they released solo que, then their precious baby dyn que would die out.

solo players would swich over, dyn que wouldnt have filler material for their 3 and 4 man premades, que times would get insanely long, and more people would switch over.

yes, i want solo que too. but riot is too far with their heads stuck up their own asses to just go back on a decision they made. like ever. theyll do what they always do and try to bandaid things until they give up and compeltely replace it with something else, that still isnt solo que. because then theyd have to admit they made a mistake.

i dont think ive seen riot ever just revert a change in my time playing this game. be it champion buffs/nerfs, gameplay changes or something like this.

I vote we just go back to solo q and be done with it. To all you boosted animals who were previously too scared to play ranked, I say go back to normals or grow a pair. All these boosted Dynamic Q fanboys simply enjoy the unfair advantage Rito has given them. If Rito ever stops counting their money and fixes matchmaking so these boosted animals have the same chance of winning as solo player, I Garentee they'll go back to play solo. Because Qing up as a 5 man team and still being in bronze won't be fun anymore. However, this won't happen anytime soon because premades=more players, more players=more money, more money=happy Chinese communist overlords, happy Chinese communist overlords= happy lyfe. Being a Solo q player is a lot like being a young girl at R.Kelly's house, one way or another your gonna get pissed on. #RitoDontPissOnMePlease

If you got rid of 4 man premades, and solos matching vs 5 man premades then the queue would be fixed.

Riot being the arrogant ignorant stubborn fucks as they are won't do that.

League is a team game and solo queue doesn't reflect that.

Then why matchmaking crates matches based on **individual ranking **?

No its not a team game.

League is a team game and solo queue doesn't reflect that.

The very moment you find yourself in a lobby with 4 other human players it becomes a team game. The fact that someone queued together doesn't change that it's still 5 (10) people playing together. And from my experience this season I feel much more isolated from premades in my team. It feels like I'm playing a solo game with 4 advanced bots unless we are 5 solos or 3 solos+1 duo at most.

You isolate those who want to play with others competitively but can't consistently get a team of five together.

Might as well delete normals from this game, since both queues are pretty much identical now except for vanity icon that is you current "rank". The games in both queues are "competitive" to a similar degree.

Toxicity would drastically increase.

How is that? Do you base your opinion on some mysterious data mentioned in the round table video? And even then, it is probably the new champ select that reduced toxicity (if it did at all, I'd say it's the auto-banning system that has helped a lot).

All we need is Solo Queue + Ranked 5s.

Thing is, they know that those are not options if they want to keep their oh so precious Dynamic Garbage...because if anything even resembling soloQ is released, Dynamic Garbage would vanish. And I am not talking gradually over time, I am talking INSTANTLY, click of the heels, just gone.

Because the system DEPENDS on forcing soloQ players into the same premade queue.

Otherwise, its not only the 4man premades that won't work, its the 3 and 2mans as well. Sure, you can match 3s and 2s, but there is a larger number of 2s, and they don't want to wait until the next 3man, with correct average MMR and role distribution, comes up. SO, fill with solo players it is, thanks so much for that rito. I always wanted to be used as filler material (not).

They want to keep their Dynamic Garbage, they have made that abundantly clear. As long as they want that, they can't bring back soloQ.

And that's why I no longer play this game.

You cannot have Solo and Dynamic Queue coexist because DQ needs there to be solo players to fill the holes.

Whats wrong with the DotA system?.. that would be my solution.

"There is a large demand for solo queue. Just check reddit or boards".

This is nativist and stupid. Reddit and boards are largely used by NA and EU. Does KR have a problem with Dynamic queue? Does Japan? Does China? Does Oceania? How about Brazil? LAN?

There's not a high demand for solo queue. It's just a bunch of Americans and Europeans crying. That's why it's so easy for Riot to ignore.

I don't like Dynamic Que they're so many boosters now because riot can't track it easily now. But they shouldn't have added Badge system, it just makes dynamic or team players look unskilled with out they're team when they're just trying to climb.
