In this current meta does winning bot lane matter at all?

I've been a Morgana one trick for a long time. I play her in every role. For the first few seasons she was primarily a mid and she was pretty decent. Now she is a meta support.

Yet, since the most recent patch, I find I lose about 95% of my support games and win about 80% of my mid games as her in gold/plat elo. Even if I stomp bot lane and our adc goes something like 6/0 it seems to be completely irrelevant to outcome of the game.

Yesterday, for example, I played with my friend who is a diamond draven player. We went 13/0 bot lane. Our top went 0/8 versus Irelia. Late game we lost because Irelia was basically unkillable and could kill the Draven in about 2 seconds. The guy is a diamond draven main. By most metrics that means he's a fairly decent player. The irelia was silver. It just didn't matter.

To be fair, everyone else but me and the draven on our team did poorly. They lost their lanes. Even so, this guy is a Diamond draven main. I'm a plat support. We're doing normals. We cannot carry these games generally as bot lane. If we go other positions we win hard.

Is anyone else having this problem? I really feel like bot just doesn't matter at all.

if you lose 95% of your support games it's not about bot lane not mattering. It's about you failing botlane.

No. When I'm going 6/0 bot lane most games I would say not. I would say it has more to do with constantly having 0/4 tops, 0/4 jungles, and 0/4 mids.

If I'm the best player in the game and I'm not in a position that can adequately carry then what does it matter? Do you think Faker is going to carry people if he picks Soraka support? Is he going to do 100000 damage as Soraka support?

My question is whether putting the carry weight on bot lane is reasonable now.

I haven't checked your rank (you could be a smurf too) but I can say that if you think support is tied to botlane then you are playing the game wrong. I'm not a support main, but every high elo support I see is constantly roaming and carrying the game with unexpected ganks (often with jungler too) and good warding

What is the point to roaming to a 0/4 mid exactly? I build boots of Mobi and help the jungle if I can. But if they're 0/4 by 5 minutes in it isn't worth it.

Diving champions are strong and the champions that typically peel off divers are kind of weak. ADCs without range or self-peel are extremely weak even if they hard-stomp the lane, because they just get oneshot by Vladimir etc. etc.

Yes. I agree. So you don't think that playing adc/support is a good way to really carry? Assuming you're doing a traditional adc.

I think your comp needs to be able to peel for the AD, and the AD needs to be able to survive the lane matchup. You can carry with it, but it's more situational than it used to be.

Picking something like swain bot with morg is probably still good, though, even after the swain ulti nerf

Winning botlane doesn't matter if your whole team is losing. ADC and support litteraly destroying the enemy botlane doesn't matter if you have a team who's losing on their side of the map AND won't listen to your calls.

Botlane needs their team. If your team is losing BUT they listen to you, I believe it could work out.

However, I've never had that. Perhaps they think that Botlane can carry them. Oh, how wrong they are.

No, botlane can't win alone, not when 3 members are outclassing every single one of your teammates, including yourself. ( even though you've done your job and put the enemy botlane behind )

It is of no surprise to me that you win games when going mid and lose when going bot. It isn't a fatality to lose in botlane, it's a fact that botlane alone can't carry if the whole team is losing.

A winning midlane holds more power than a winning botlane in my opinion. Why?

Because midlane can carry. ( at least, I've been a witness of that ) Botlane can't.

Unless games go late, marksmen are almost always irrelevant. That's why the majority of pro players are playing Swain/Vlad/GP/Heimer/Brand etc. Their early impact can affect the flow of the game, and their build paths allows for health items (Morello, Liandry's) as well as defense (Banshee's, Zhonya's). ADCs just need to hope that their team is willing to admit that they're losing, play defensively, and protect them in team fights if they're ahead. But in solo queue, that doesn't happen. Everyone wants to be a carry, so if they fail at that, the team sinks with them.
