Here is a note from a Riot employee:

"Hello again Ultimate,

I've looked through your penalty history and through your 2-week suspension back in December.

Unfortunately, your account did escalate properly due to the negativity that has been shown in your matches with a 10-game chat restriction > 25-game chat restriction > 2-week suspension.

Since your 2-week suspension was applied your account did not deescalate to a 10-game chat restriction properly, though our IFS (Instant Feedback System) believe it did. I cannot go into detail of what qualifies for a deescalation.

We did notice that - that 10-game was incorrect and we had to make a corrective penalty of a permanent suspension.

I know it's really difficult to swallow this entire ordeal, but please know that we've made this decision based on the history of your account and this is truly the end of the road for this account.

So there you have it. You can be arbitrarily banned at any time if you receive a chat ban. They can just say the system fucked up. Cool story bro. I guess he can't "go into details".

From what I'm reading, you had a 14-day ban. You continued to be toxic. You triggered a punishment, but the IFS mistakenly gave you a 10-CR instead of the natural perma-ban next step. Rito manually reviewed your account and gave you the correct punishment. It shows they do audit their system.

What's arbitrary about that?

Allow me to understand the situation. You get a chat ban. You open a support ticket because you believed it to be unfair, even after having a 14 day ban recently. The support personnel tells you it was correct once or told you they'd need time to look at. They look at it, realize you've been WORSE than the system believed, and punished you properly with a permanent ban.

So why on earth would you send in a support ticket concerning anything less than a permanent ban? What purpose did it serve you to complain about your chat ban? If you'd kept your mouth shut, your account wouldn't have been audited and banned.

You're like a guy who takes a TV back because it's broken, but you get arrested because they realize you're the guy who stole it from the store.

I love how OP framed this like they did nothing wrong and then gets smug and cocky talking down to everyone explaining a pretty simple turn of events. The algorithm reported you descalated, but a real life person looked at your logs and came to the conclusion that, no! You didn't! You abused their rules and space to act like a toddler and got slapped on the wrist for it.

As a private company they can do as they like, and while that normally doesn't jive well with me I an happy to make this exception. Especially if they look at your behavior and determine your very presence in the game is undesirable. Because to any other player trying to enjoy the game, your presence is undesirable.

It's a sad turn, but whining about it and framing it like you're blameless is irresponsible and shows that your obviously not ready for a second chance if this is your gut reaction to any criticism. Plus immediately throw your hands up and weirdly call them SJW over it is pretty telling. It kinda shows anyone with awareness what your REAL issue is and how it bleeds into your interactions with people.

Take the ban and move on dude. You're helping no one plugging up the forums with this. Especially when its gumming up people's other feeds.

I don't know the context of the punishment, but the punishment tiers are as he said;

  • 10 game chat restriction
  • 25 game chat restriction
  • 14 day account ban
  • Permanent account ban

For most chat related offenses, you move up one tier at a time, though it can deescalate over a period of good behavior. When he says he can't "go into details", he means he can't tell you a specific requirement to deescalate, because there is no specific one; deescalation depends on you playing a lot and showing good behavior, and poor behavior (or just not playing much) will make it take longer for your account status to improve. In this case it seems like you had not shown sufficient reform and reached the next punishment tier before your account status improved.

Lol even after the community evaluated the facts and determined that it wasn't arbitrary and an employee manually reviewed your behavior and banned you for it you still can't learn from it all and humble yourself. Glad you were banned, it's obvious you're the exact kind of toxic person that doesn't deserve to be in the game

Referring to others in negative, demeaning language such as "kids" or using language such as "stop crying" is not really conducive to a healthy conversation. Please be aware of how you are framing your disagreements and choose your language to reflect in a less dismissing tone.

Doesn't seem arbitrary - at best you should have expected to stay at a 25 game chat ban.

Yep. Been there. Don't bother. They will always take the side of their ai and will NEVER look at game footage or review context. It's just easier, plus they bank on you rebuying all your shit. Good luck with your next account.
