special PSA for rito games

hi rito, my name is AdoIf Hit Her. i have a special PSA for you, and to an extent, for the league of legos community. let's talk about the defining trait that makes a champion broken :)

first, let's clarify what broken means, as opposed to overpowered. broken essentially refers to a fundamental aspect of the design of the champion's kit which causes this champion to have an unfair advantage over non-broken champions, regardless of circumstances. overpowered essentially refers to the tuning of a champion's numbers. so, a champion can be broken, but not overpowered (Ekko) and a champion can be overpowered but not broken (Annie) great, now that that's out of the way, let's look at some champions that i would consider broken.

in no particular order: Ekko Katarina LeeSin Camille Yasuo

now, at this point, you're probably thinking, "but Adolf, you're just a salty retarded noob :))"

and if you are thinking that, you're probably right. but that doesn't make me wrong. ask yourself, my good chum, what do each of these champions have in common? that's right friendo, near infinite mobility. mobility, of course, meaning some form of dash or gapcloser or hard disengage like lee song's ult, not movespeed (sorry Udyr). "but Adolf, Yasuo and Camille's mobility are conditionial!!!!1111! and Ekko uses mana!11!!" and yes, that is true, but that's why i said near infinite mobility. there are very few champions in this game with near infinite mobility, and the ones that do have it have an unfair advantage over non-broken champions regardless of the situation, regardless of who's fed, hence, broken.

now, this isn't to say that all broken champions have near infinite mobility. it's more so all champions with near infinite mobility are broken. there are other types of broken champions, like this asshole TwistedFate but that's a whole other topic. in conclusion, i leave you, my dear league of legos community, and you, my beloved rito games, with this final message: if you want this game to be as balanced as it can be, stop making champions with near infinite mobility.

thank you for your time. merry Christmas and happy holidays.

While this is an enjoyable post, I find your definition of Broken and Overpowered to be a bit obscured. Ekko's kit is definitely a numbers thing, easily balanced and predictable. It takes a good Ekko to accomplish tasks, thus, making him overpowered which can be fixed with tuning issues since he has a very flexible kit.

Annie, on the other hand, is down right broken. Not only is she a numbers problem, her kit and her play style is also a problem. "Stay away from her" is her counter play. While her AP ratios may not be the highest, and her mobility may be zilch, she's still a balance problem for the game. When Fizz Enthusiast talked about fun factor -- for players playing against and with certain champs --- Annie was one of the firsts to come to my mind. She has her own flaws, like everyone, but I do believe super simple, yet super strong and effective kits like Annie's are problematic.

Mobility creep is also another issue for the game. The champs you mentioned are definitely problems to the games, in more senses than one. As for TF, he isn't problematic. He's fine as he is and his early game is rather weak. So take advantage of it. :)

On that note, good post and good read. Enjoy your holidays and Merry Christmas Adolf Hit Her.

Just how troll is this post? Arbitrary definitions and special pleading.

Adolf, is the Fourth Reich a success yet?

Happy Freeza Day.

My biggest complaint are with champions with overloaded kits. For example, nidalee and jayce have 7 abilities, whereas most champion have 4, and some poor bastards, like Udyr, have 3 (because you won't run tiger + phoenix). I especially feel that the current meta is very restrictive of junglers, since to be a good jungler, you need to be mobile and have good wave clear. Lee sin, shyvanna, hecarim, vi, etc. It seems that a lot of very interesting champions simply aren't viable, but I get that not everyone can fit in at the same time. Just like in WoW balance, everyone gets a turn. WW, fiddlesticks, aatrox (he's still a champion?) are borderline useless with only a few niche situations. I wish I had a good way to resolve this, but sadly I do not. Does anyone else have any ideas on how to address such issues?

Merry Christmas!

Near infinite mobility? Hahahahahhaha there is this thing called CC. Typically that is the counter to mobility. Nearly every champ has some form of CC, im sure you guys can cope.

but Adolf, you're just a salty retarded noob :)) but Adolf, Yasuo and Camille's mobility are conditionial!!!!1111! and Ekko uses mana!11!!

if i learned something in this game is that Camille's mobility isn't conditional since the hook range is so big you always can target a wall unless you're literally in the middle of a lane

i'll agree that kata, yasuo and lee have a ton of mobility but ekko and camille are nowhere near as mobile as the ones i have mentioned at the start. they only have one dash and a bit of a movespeed boost. nowhere near "infinite".

AkabaneKun12/25/2016, 9:47:39 PM1 votes

Mobility is always relevant whether you are ahead or not, it's just that this game doesn't have champs with tons of mobility paying for it with stats, they just have the same power lvl than some champs with less mobility+their mobility.

Mobility=safety=not feeding That's why mobility is one of the most important aspects for pro players.

From how you use "Infinite Mobility" in your post, anyone who has a dash is considered to be infinitely mobile.

AirKingNeo12/26/2016, 1:02:32 AM1 votes

Except Ekko sucks right now. He's no where near broken, nor is Annie broken.

Suspicious Xebra12/26/2016, 2:46:58 AM1 votes

Kata is nowhere near broken. Just get some hard cc for her ult and/or item 3157 . Plenty of ways to stop her.

With regard to the mobility, here's what I find interesting: I play Lulu. And I did consider my 3x "Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed" to be the best rune investment ever. Sounds pretty much like mobility personified, with 3 MS quints, upgraded boots, some AP and selfcast W...except more and more champions can easily catch up with her now.

So while the matches has been ever shortened down, and even average, passive movement speed is ever increasing, so exactly where are they getting at with all that?

By my calculations, in Season 4, 400 movement speed for any duration of time (before any applied MS buffs) was a lot. But that stat seem to have increased by about 50 every season. You got less than 450 MS passively now (after items, but before any buffs) and you ain't running away from anyone.
