Biggest problem with League right now: Clarity. Not the summoner spell.

My biggest frustrations in league right now have a lot to do with the amount of information being displayed.

Why am I not being matched based on my rank, but based on my MMR? What is my MMR? Why can't I get that information without having to go to a 3rd party site that can only estimate it?

Why can I not know how many reports I've gotten at the end of a game? Or my leaver rating? Or anything else punishment related?

How do I find out the numbers on champion abilities without going to some 3rd party sites?

None of these things are fully displayed in ways that we can understand. We don't know them, and thus can't adjust our play to them.

"Why am I not being matched based on my rank, but based on my MMR? What is my MMR?"

Your MMR IS your rank, your rank us there so you can see your progress. Every rank has a MMR level, let's say Bronze 5 is 700 MMR, to get to Bronze 4 you need 800 MMR. Again this all speculation, and you don't need your exact MMR to change your gameplay, Bronze 5 is Bronze 5 regardless of what MMR of Bronze 5 you have.

"Why can't I get that information without having to go to a 3rd party site that can only estimate it?"

Because Riot wants it hidden.

You mean this is a 3rd party website to you? http://gameinfo.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/game-info/champions/

"Why can I not know how many reports I've gotten at the end of a game?"

Some reports like "Unskilled player" are there for a placebo effect. other reports like "Negative Attitude" are displayed on your screen with the "All players have bad days, be sure to remain sportsman like tho."

and why are we removing clarity with the new HUD?

mmr use to be displayed but Riot got rid of it in season 3 in favor of the current rank system to eliminate rank anxiety

Someone made a good point about MMR, so I won't say much about that except to say that hiding MMR prevents abuse. I will say that, in general, your rank will match your MMR, more or less.

Similarly, anything punishment related should stay hidden because otherwise people will rationalize bad behavior by saying that it is okay to get X number of reports because nothing will happen before then. If you don't know how many reports you have left before a ban, etc, you are less likely to behave in a bad way.

The numbers on champion abilities is a little annoying, but I would argue that the fact that third party groups showed up has actually discouraged Riot from implementing it themselves; why would they spend the resources (time, money, manpower) on a job that is already done and is just as easily accessible as their own information? It doesn't really make any sense to do so, especially in a free game.

It's because Riot thought that LP was somehow healthier for players than MMR. Everything you can do w/ LP, you can do with MMR except for one thing: you can't punish dodges with MMR (because it'll be abused to intentionally tank MMR). Riot posted that participation in ranked bloomed after LP was out, but this was at the same time that LCS was created and when badges/divisions were created (these actually existed even back when Riot was still using MMR).

The rest of it is just laziness. It's increasingly common for devs to keep real numbers out of the players' hands, which frustrates me to no end.

At least they're finally fixing death recaps (I hope).

While i can see your point on the MMR things, The reason you don't get info on reports and stuff is to keep people from gaming the system,

MMR is for people who want a challenge. Rank is for people who want to stroke their E-peen.

There seriously should be somewhere in the client where you can find numbers and ratios on champion abilities. This is one of the most annoying things when trying to play a game for fun

Actually you dont have to care about MMR. It is just a System to match you with Players of equal skill Level. I think it s much more fun to Play for increase in devision instead of some numbers... So why bother with this Information at all? How would this change your playstyle?

I know how many reports i get: Zero most of the time and the rare occasions where i lose Connection i get some afk reports... I dont really bother about reports either. I behave and only quit in extrem situations... only got one punishment in 5 years. Also the only reason i can think of why one would like to know how many reports for his foul language he got is to adjust his behaviour for a few games and then starts being unfriedly again. The Police wont give away their Speed control positions for similar reasons.

The numbers for abilities should indeed be available ingame! I Support this request. I still would use the lolwiki probably... because i dont expect the ingame Infos to be that easily accessible.
