Kog'Maw's 44% winrate

Best Kog NA··2 votes·510 views

Looking at http://champion.gg/champion/KogMaw/ADC a few things pop out. 1: His win rate is 44.37%, the lowest out of any champion in the ADC role, and the second lowest behind Ivern overall. And Ivern's a new champion 2: If you look at the winrate vs game time chart, he no longer is a late game monster, at his best he's the best early game, but that's still a 47.2% winrate 3: His playrate is at the lowest it's been in a while, meaning people are no longer playing him.

So switching over to the other role he's played in, middle, his stats are more viable than ADC'Maw 1: He has a 52.05% winrate 2: His Winrate Vs Game time chart starts to reflect his late game monster trait 3: The playerbase average games played is 142 So the middle Kog'Maw stats are largely consisted of only the people who play Kog'Maw a ton. Only a couple hundred.

I'm more concerned over the fact that if you look up Kog'Maw guides on Lolking, after the featured guides the top 2 are for AP Kog'Maw mid lane. The same thing goes for mobifire. Most, if not all of the guides are for mid lane Kog'Maw. I just want to know if Riot's going to support AP koggy and rebuild his kit around being played AP (Changing / removing his W) or if they're planing on just nerfing the shit out of AP Kog'maw and leaving ADC Kog'maw alone. Because in his current state he's unplayable in the bot lane.

In theory he should be fine, but in practice he is trash. You are strong only with W up and Vayne/Jinx/Trist/Cait/ are still better lategame. His base stats are low and without Lulu you are so slow...

In theory he still is trash. He got nerfed to oblivion (ADC not mid)

kogmaw is fine...... the way he is . scaling ap glphys 1 attack speed mark and 1 attack speed quint. to make his damage way higher. i use this on my onhit build, rage blade, runaans, blade of the ruined king, sorc shoes or cd boots, nashors tooth, hextech. on hit damage is great. hextech boost his over all damage of his other items by a decent amount i mean sure you can get wits end but i prefer hextech instead. i use this on varus and teemo becuase of the on hit damage and rage blade will make his damage doubled youll start raping people likenothing

Explain the winrate then

khorney1 votes

team loses simple as that..... stop looking at winrate for your statistics...... also people rush ad and rush wits end ...... there might be a reason for not doing well..... the build i suggested is what i use on my on hit champs liek varus(w),teemo(e), oris passive if you chose to do this. eventually i sell boots for tri force becuase im not losing anything but a little bit of movement speed.

44% isn't just a fluke

i believe it is. he is fine the way he is. my thing is a lot of people will rush wits end for no reason..... alll they say is this is what challenger and or master people do so it must be good...... i dunno i like my onhit hybrid build becuase it works....

you have no Kog'Maw games on your account. Do not associate your Teemo build or Varus build to a champion that you haven't played.

Also, you play AP Leona. I wouldn't ever trust anyone that build Leona AP.

and the damage is there, so do not judge soemthing that you feel is weak. becuase its a onhit build and seeing kog is on hit this is the build that will work but hey dont believe me. so when i burst you as leona doing like 3k damage in 1 sec to you what will you think then.

Don't listen to this guy, he doesn't even have a game played on Kog'Maw in ranked all season and hasn't played Kog'Maw in normals. He think people rush Wits and disagrees that Kog'Maw should build AD (even though you're supposed to build AD to benefit your Ult).

seeing on my on hit build that i use youll have like 300 ad and close to 300 ap and you think thats weak ? depends on what elixer you feel like getting and or if you want hextech gunblade over lord dom. your choice.

I've looked at your match history, you've never played Kog'Maw. You're creating numbers without actual data to back it up. Playing Teemo and Varus is completely different than playing Kog'Maw. Kog would never build Hextech Gunblade because he needs attack speed over some AP. He would build BoRK rather than Hextech Gunblade, he doesn't build on hit. To hit 300 AD you'd need IE and ER, which are not on hit. To hit 300 AP efficiently you'd need a reasonable AP item and Rabadons. All 4 do not provide any attack speed.

since you didnt look at my varus build and seeing his w is onhit you my friend need to do some research. and i ll play him and ill use this exact build.... and seeing you do not give rageblade its due. varus w is onhit teemos e is onhit and kogs w is on hit and with the attack speed i get off my build is like 2.plus i beleive thats fine

raping people likenothing

why would you say something like this

Quepha1 votes

dunno why Riot thought it was OK to revert the massive power boost to his W without also reverting the massive nerf to his ult.

NodirjonSattarov1 votes

they didn't want to revert everything otherwise there was no real progress with the champion. progress in the sense change, not necessarily for the good of the chamion.

They admitted that the progress was in a direction that was ultimately not good at the game. When you are undoing a mistake you need to undo to a point where it was OK, not just half the problem.

It should have been obvious that Kog'maw's half-revert would be completely unplayable. When they reworked Kog'maw they took a ton of power away from his ult and moved it to his W. Then they took that extra power out of the W which is an obviously huge net negative on a champion that has a very delicate balance state.

They were awfully vague as to why he needed to be reverted. They kept saying that it was the attack speed and how he stood still too often at 5AS. This was not true because people who have mastered him did find a way to "stutter-step" or cancel autos in between autos. Another problem, according to Riot, was that he warped On-hit items. The issue with on-hit items is that they do not scale and are extremely inefficient without enough attack speed, which Kog'Maw supplied. I think the main reason was that Kog'Maw took advantage of his attack speed in the jungle. He could easily go into the jungle position and within 20 minutes he would have Blood Razor and Runaans to shred entire teams. No one thought to punish Kog'Maw in the jungle which isn't the champions fault, but the people that don't know how to set Kog'Maw back further.

I have 485 ranked games on Kog'Maw this season so I am well aware of every buff and nerf he's taken. I have been attempting to have Riot answer for the issues that Kog'Maw suffers for 2 months now but I hardly get any dialogue.

They were pretty clear about two big issues:

  1. Kog'maw was too immobile while W was up. Even the people who found out how to stutter step and maintain dps would still move incredibly slowly compared to most adcs and that meant that the power he needed to succeed was absurd.

  2. The massively different attack speed that Kog'maw could achieve was restricting their ability to effectively balance on-hit effects. An on-hit effect that Shyvana or Master Yi can build and feel like they're getting appropriate power from, Kog'maw would take and get almost double the benefits.

i think he's balanced, low winrate soften mean they just require a skill cap but aren't completely gutted like Azir and Kalista

Ryze has almost the same win rate as kogmaw but i can still kick ass with him, he was too much of a monster and they fixed him, maybe a few buffs for the kog but no rework is needed
