Kha doesn't evolve to fit the situation

Rebonack··8 votes·897 views

He never has.

He has always just grabbed the two most powerful evolutions and then picks whichever one is the least crappy as the third.

Want to make him actually evolve to fit the situation?

Give him one evolution point. Make his evolutions grow in power at levels 11 and 16. And then allow him to swap out his evolutions with a two second channel time.

There.

Now he actually evolves and overcomes.

I've talked with a lot of people on this and alot of people are for actually taking away the reset on the jump which honestly takes away a lot of his power budget that could be used elsewhere...

Honestly just a longer jump should be enough to incite people to take it...

the whole isolated thing needs to go its an outdated mechanic that brings down his power and consistency in ways that shouldn't be...so for q take away the isolation thing but give it a 200% buff when a target is below a certain threshold like say 50%

w is a hard one I'll come back too but I like it being one of the main dmg sources if e has all of its dmg taken away as well

his ulty should have a 10 % damage reduction back not to big as to be overbearing but can still make some flashy get out plays

w needs to have some kind've utility attached to the evolved version I cant really think of something atm someone help lol...

But bar w I have now made every evolution viable and made it an actual choice :)

I feel almost the opposite way. I think he should always have the reset on the jump, and longer jump should be all the upgrade does. Then if your in a game where you don't need the extra range to engage, you don't take it. If you do need the extra range, you do take it.

Right now you have to take it because the reset is to damn important to pass up.

If you're talking about him fulfilling his theme, maybe you're right. If you're talking about him being balanced, then he just needs number tweaks and a form of damage reduction/ArmorMRboost like Rengar's W back into his ult. Also Taste Their Fear should proc on-hit effects, I never understood why not, one of the biggest reasons why he's comparatively crap at being bruiser.

For fun's sake try: The point of these reworks is to give Kha'Zix a less static kit, one that actually changes per situation.

Passive: Unseen Threat. Damage from this ability effect switches between Physical and Magic depending on which is the lower one of the target. If the target has more armor than MR then this damage will be Magic, if the target has more MR than Armor then this damage will be physical.

(Evolved) Q: Increase damage dealt to a target by 2/3/4/5/6% per 15 seconds they have been out of combat.

W (General): Increase the amount of slows by 10% per target hit.

E: No change.

R: Has no cast time in between stealths. You can double tap or triple tap on this ability to stack the invisibility duration. Provides 12% extra (on bonus) Armor and MR during invisibility for every champion nearby (500 range).

Nah, I'm not talking about whether or not he's balanced.

His mechanical balance is totally irrelevant to this topic.

I'm talking about how his evolution mechanic totally falls flat when it comes to providing Kha interesting choices and interesting gameplay. Some evolutions will always be more mechanically powerful than others, and since you can grab more than one Kha inevitably just grabs the most mechanically powerful options and ignores the weakest one.

If he were limited to just one at a time (with the ability to swap between them out of combat) each evolution could be buffed to provide the best source of power for a specific type of situation.

Q should be the best damage option when you want to leap on isolated targets and destroy them.

W should be the best poke option when diving into the middle of a fight is too dangerous.

E should be the best mobility option for leaping about a hectic battle.

R should be the best defensive option for surviving combat where you can't rely on isolating targets.

Each evolve should be doing something different and useful.

Well, you're basically asking a buff to each mechanical ability.

Well, you're basically asking a buff to each mechanical ability.

If Annie got a significant buff to using her passive with her Q, but lost the ability to apply it to the rest of her kit, would that be a buff or a nerf?

No idea!

It would be a remake and whether she gets stronger or weaker would depend wholly on the numbers involved. Lateral changes aren't necessarily buffs or nerfs, though they can turn out that way when all is said and done.

In the same fashion, this would be a remake to Kha's evolution system. Would he be stronger or weaker if he could only have one evolution active at a time? How much stronger (if at all) would the individual evolutions need to become at levels 11 and 16 for him to still be viable?

Again, I have no idea.

The precise numbers (or even any additional mechanical changes) made to his evolutions are beyond the scope of this topic. It's looking purely at the fact that Kha's 'adapt and overcome' character hook isn't expressed in the current evolution system and proposing one potential solution to that shortcoming. How things would look on the balance end of the changes are a totally different topic.

W and Ult evolve is so useless it's not even funny lmfao. Can they just give it an additional effect already.

enemies hit by W get marked, using Q deals extra damage, Coming out of R gives him MR/Armor? Lmao. They need to do something.

You definitely have to make a choice between Q and E right now.

and not depending on the situation

that is literally the reason behind choosing - the situation.

yes, at lvl 6, after that you take the other of the two, and then you again have a small choice between crap and shit...

Khazix? Is this that champ that cuts your hp by half with single Q and deletes while isloated?

Isolation is incredibly hard to achieve. And even then, Kha'Zix's burst is still low when compared to other assassins which can delete you even when not isolated.

This isn't even a balance thread.

This is a gameplay/champion design thread.

Kha's numbers and raw mechanical balance have no bearing what so ever on this topic. It's about how his current evolution mechanic doesn't provide the player with any meaningful choice beyond 'Do I want E or Q first?'. Forcing Kha to stick with just one evolve and providing him the ability to swap them when out of combat would allow him to actually adapt to the situation at hand.

If this were a balance thread, I would be suggesting changes to his W or R evolve that would make them attractive first-picks over E and Q.
