Jungler Champs To Learn The Game Through.

I've been playing the new Eve a lot but i think she's too complicated for me to learn the game with. Maybe Nidalee? If i'm playing someone to learn the game through i need to like them but they also can't be too unique. Obviously i'm not playing ranked so playing an off meta champ shouldn't hurt me that much, right?

Nidalee is also pretty complex, as she's a form-swapping champ with some trickier interaction points.

If you're looking for junglers, I'd recommend the following. They're all fairly forgiving and multi-purpose.

  • Warwick
  • Jarvan IV
  • Xin Zhao
  • Amumu
  • Sejuani
  • Udyr

All are either very durable or have in-built sustain, they have decent ganking, and they bring enough CC or disruption that even if you have a bad game you can become useful to your team through powerful initiation.

ehh I would take Jarvan off that list. His combo is not forgiving at all. If you fuck up the combo you are dead. But the others I agree with.

It's an easy combo to learn though -- if you want a gateway champion to more complicated play-makers, Jarvan is a great choice, imo.

true, but the fed junglers to start out and learn the jungle would probably be WW and Nunu since their clears are forgiving and can build tank. Fiddle would be good too, but sadly he will get invaded a lot because he is so squishy.

Nunu I tend not to recommend because his gameplay is weird. But yeah, that's why the rest of my list was very durable and simple.

I'm not sure if she's in a better place yet but a lot of people were saying she was a little weak (Eve)

Nidalee would be a good choice, JarvanIV Sejuani MasterYi could also be good options!

So i guess i'm getting Nidalee.

Oh no, no, no. Not Nidalee. Meta gaming is not the issue and not something you should be concerned with at all. On to the question, generally the idea that a lot of people have when learning a role is to pick a champion that you don't have to worry about making work so that you can focus on the learning of the role. Like Amumu or something, he's basically free. he's called a king of low elo and all you have to is tell monsters sob stories so that frees you up to learn about routes and gank opportunities and whatever and to not pick a champ where you have to deal with invading or dueling and having to play on a clock to snowball the game before your champ becomes irrelevant. You can play a cheap champion until you feel comfortable in the role and you can swap back to Eve if you dislike them when that is done.

Ok, then i'll farm IP on Amumu for Nidalee. How many games should i play with Amumu to learn the fundamentals?

Honestly, I can't say how many games that would mean for you. That sort of thing depends on the player really. I suppose the best thing would be to play you know what you should be doing in any given situation.

I find nunu and amumu to be decent starting junglers since they have good clears. They also have a decent amount to contribute to in late game. Just build them full tank and you are set

Warwick Nunu (even though i HATE this champ and find him boring as dirt he is an easy jungler to learn on) Amumu

Warwick, Xin Xao, Shyvana are all good for learning how to play the overall game better but the one who might be the best for learning Macro is Nunu. Hes not a very good dueler and hes not the greatest in teamfights but if you play him properly you can control every objective easily. Youll learn when you can and cannot counter jungle because its easy for him to get in and out after clearing a camp but if you get caught its not going to be pretty unless you get help.

Nidalee is not a good champion to learn jungle with. She's more of a powerfarming jungler, which (imo) have limited use in solo queue unless you get really good at them. Try Amumu Rammus for tanks or XinZhao JarvanIV for fighters. I would also like to mention Warwick and MonkeyKing but Warwick isn't the same super easy champion he used to be and I don't know if Wukong is a viable jungler anymore.

Nidalee is a better choice once you learn the role. You can still play her but I wouldn't say she's beginner friendly

If your heart is set for Nidalee, do try her out, but she's a pretty difficult jungler, as her early clears are fairly dangerous and require a fair amount of finer mechanics. If you want a learner-friendly jungler, I'd recommend Warwick and Amumu, both of whom have very easy clears, as well as ganking tools that are both simple and pretty effective. Warwick especially scales really well with mastery, so if you commit to learning him you could go very far.
