What kind of TOP LANER can carry games?

What kind of top laner has the best CHANCES of making a large impact in a game? Is it a CC tank, is it a bruiser like darius, is it a straight up AD champ like Riven?

I always choose someone with CC. I wanted to use Illaoi but she doesn't have any CC and I was having trouble with a team comp that barely had any.

I need to main someone reliable. I used to use gragas but was skull fucked in the last patch.

Depends on your division. In low elo, Nasus to farm because ppl don't know how to harass you out of lane. Or Malphite , land one good ult, gg. As you mentioned, Darius is a good choice since ppl aren't willing to accept that he'll win trades against most melee top laners and would end up feeding when they go ham.

Pantheon can carry a team early/mid, if you dominate your lane then try to snowball other lanes by ulting, doesn't offer much cc tho only that 1 sec stun. But IMO he isn't as bad lategame as people make him out to be, get 1-2 tank items and you can become a armor shredder/bodyguard for your adc. I also still like Jax as a hypercarry but he needs a good laning phase and a good amount of gold before he can get going.

I'm Silver 4 so take my advice and opinions with a grain of salt please I'm not FAKER JR

Chogath Malphite Maokai All 3 have great teamfight potential and can't get pushed out of lane easily. You can farm them, and you don't really need jungle pressure from your jungler as you build into a tank early with them. item 3010 can be built early on them if you need to keep your distance from enemy top laner so you can get use your abilities to cs safe under tower until you can complete item 3027 and once you do you only get stronger and bigger from there.
Once you do have ROA you don't need any other sort of damage item just build tank for your team.

Jax Nasus Vladimir are great IF ONLY YOU CAN FARM DECENTLY on them don't play them if you can only get 20 cs by the 20 min mark or it's a waste. They scale into the late game and you need to be smart and cs well enough to not get too far behind in the early game. PLAY SAFE and once you have 2-3 items you are a Power house that the enemy team needs to kill first or you can TANK-and do Damage so your team at the mid/late game will now have a Triple threat team comp instead of just the MID and ADC only doing damage.

Trundle I like playing Trundle and building FULL TANK the only Damage item that I get is item 2033 . Your ult also helps with your tank ability and damage. Most enemy players will see a trundle with no damage items and will fight you once you know the enemy will fight you to the death POP all 3 and burst them down with your Q W Ult DEAD!

DEPENDS if your playing with Friends or a Friend or good in the early stage of the game! Good late game meh early game. If you do get behind and your playing with 4 randoms they will tilt based off your performance in the early stage of the game. If they see you 0-3 in the first 20 mins they will think the game is lost, not to mention the games are shorter now so reaching late game with Tryndamere may be difficult.
Split pushing is GREAT with him if your ahead enough to do so if not there are other champions to play. Another thing to note to be able to split push WITHOUT DYING 90 times the map needs to be warded up and in solo Q you will be lucky if 1 of your teammates warded more than 10 times so be aware of that also.

Decent at all stages in the game but needs "some practice" Darius Nautilus MonkeyKing These would be a good choice if you think you can carry at all stages in the game. HOWEVER can be punished until certain items.
Wu and Darius builds similar; where all they need early would be item 3071 and depends on the other items against the enemy/your team but for the most part getting BC early before the 14 min mark is instant lane control and the game will be MUCH easier.
For Nautlais just build tank nothing more no nothing less. Your ult is your main engage and the more HP you have the larger the Shield not to mention at the start Nautalis has like a 400+ shield depending on your runes at the start. Easy CC to land with passive up every 7-10 secs.
